Answers so many questions
When I first realized my son had delayed speech, I didn't really know what to do. I tried doing things on my own at home with him, and that seemed to help a little, but not a lot. I was eventually able to get him into speech therapy, but that was only once per week and I wanted to do more for him. This book was super helpful and gave lots of very realistic and doable games that I can do with him at home.
I also really liked how it explained speech delays and disorders. Knowing that made the problem make more sense so now I feel like I'm better equipped to help my son be the best he can be. :)

Mother of 3
Yasmin Akhtar has written a wonderful book and Alice Wallis narrates it expertly. In fact the narration was so good that while listening I hardly had to rewind or pause to take notes on important points. This is the mark of a great narration in my opinion.
As a mother of 3 boys who all have varying degrees of ADHD and all went through some speech delay i read books on the topics of parenting as often as i can. Some are obviously better and more filled with salient information than others. This book is the former. Chock full of information you can use to help you understand your situation and your childs needs.
All of that information is wonderful but the best part of this book for me hands down is the list of books, games, toys etc that the author outlines. It is amzing the link of playing games and with certain toys to improving your childs speech/learning. We stumbled upon the value of legos (perhaps by luck) with our oldest. He is the one with the strongest ADHD and had the longest speech delay. He is 16 now and still builds Legos. Albeit much more comples (and expensive LOL) ones like the Millenium Falcon he just finished. But its lego therapy none-the-less. He is now an A student in school participating as a varsity letterman in 2 sports and will soon be leaving for Unviversity.
This is a great and informative book. I highly recommend it.
