Summary
Jacob Underwood is not like other people.
He has Cotard's syndrome. He believes he is dead. Which makes his job as a hired assassin neutralising 'problems' for DBG, a massive multinational corporation, very simple. He carries out the task - and feels nothing.
Now DBG has such a problem. A key employee, Emily Buchanan, has disappeared, taking with her a fortune and priceless information which could destroy the company. Jacob must track her down. In previous assignments, he had worked with cold, logical precision, but this time he has to confront a threat that he first must understand before it destroys him....

I love traveler series but don't get this book based on that.
I loved the traveler series. They are some of my favourite books ever. In contrast this was really disappointing.

Interesting but didn't grip me
Like the authors previous novels this deals with many concepts. Some of those concepts such as state surveillance and the AI are closer than we think.
The story was good, but unlike his other books did I care whether the main character was fighting on the right side? Not this time, which probably says more about me than the book.
Look forward to listening to any other books the author has

A different take on being
Delivered in just the right measured tones, this is an intriguing story of murder, AI, conspiracy and what it means to be human. Worth savouring.

Not a patch on previous reads.
Rather dull to be honest. Expected more after reading the traveler trilogy. We look for out next read.
