Summary

NASA astronaut Julie Starr knows nothing is earned without blood, sweat, and frizzy hair. Recently returned from orbit, Jules is on her way to becoming the youngest flight commander ever. So she isn't about to let a creepy stalker derail her goals. Or a chivalrous, wealthy rancher either, for that matter.

Holt West doesn't mess with flirts. And that's exactly what Jules is. He has enough on his plate, working the ranch he inherited from his grandfather while making sure his siblings follow their dreams. He doesn't need to be distracted from his responsibilities by the smart-mouthed, long-legged astronaut clad in leather pants and biker boots.

But when Holt's brother and Jules' best friend decide to get married, they're thrown together as best man and maid of honor. Jules takes the opportunity to hide out from her stalker at the West Ranch under the guise of planning the barnyard wedding of a lifetime. She might not know the difference between tulle and toile, but she’s an astronaut for god's sake. How hard could it be?

Between Jules vying for a record-breaking promotion while outmaneuvering a stalker and Holt fighting a losing battle with his heart, can the two of them get it together long enough to say yes to the ride of their lives?

Or is this mission a no-go?

Mixing NASA, oil and cowboys

While there were many funny situations, this book was much darker than the previous one. The threats around Julie are real and scary. Thankfully, Holt and his savior complex are here to save the day. That, plus the fact that they deny their attraction for each other, and Holt is slightly younger and a family man while Jules is a wild horse, make for an interesting relationship. And a very sensual one once they decide to take the plunge.

I found the whole feminist element enjoyable. Jules’s need to prove that women can do as well as men, and the way she motivates younger girls to do the same, were somewhat inspirational. Although there were also a lot of women undermining other women–kind of a cliché.

Narrators were the same as the previous book, and they did a good job this time too.

Mixing NASA, oil and cowboys seems obvious in Texas, but it’s quite original to put them in a sexy romance.

An enjoyable listen

I really enjoyed this story, just not as much as I did the first book in the series. It is a funny and entertaining listen. Samantha Brentmoor and Lee Samuels were brilliant. I really regret not listening to them sooner.

Space Cowgirl!!

OMG! Just when I thought you couldn't get any better then Space Junk! This is book 2 in the Space series. This is even funnier than book one. Just like book 1 Samantha and Lee do and ABSOLUTELY Fantastic job narrating. I can't wait to see who the next book will be about!

Hilariously Smart

Sara L Hudson’s NASA series is one of the smartest, funniest ones I’ve ever read. Space Cowgirl is about Julie Starr, astronaut, the best friend of the heroine from Space Junk and Holt, the brother of the hero from Space Junk. There’s delicious tension, tons of humor, and a couple of smart, sexy MCs. It’s fantastic. This series is one I love rereading.

Narration: Samantha Brentmoor is at her best in this series and Lee Samuels is fantastic as well. Excellent casting for this audiobook.
