About this listen
After powerful psychic Blue Billings fell in love with Levi Black, he believed their biggest challenges would arise from Blue’s ability to see and speak to the dead. So it’s rather alarming when he and Levi are confronted with a spate of new—and frightening—problems that have to do with the realm of the living.
A sadistic serial killer is stalking their beloved York, and Blue himself is in the killer’s crosshairs. Blue and Levi must race against time to catch the murderer as the deaths increase in ferocity. But when they’re forced from their home, and close acquaintances seemingly disappear like mist over the Minster’s spires, Blue finds that he is completely and terrifyingly on his own, and for the first time in his life, he’s without his powers.
This is the third book in the bestselling Black and Blue series. The books are meant to be listened to in order.
There are descriptions of torture and violent death in this book.

fantastic
Another fantastic book in the Blue & Black series. Blue and Levi are my favourite Lily Morton characters and this book is as strong as the first. As usual there is a great storyline with plenty to keep the reader engaged and it is always nice to see the characters from previous books playing a role. Five stars for the story and five for the excellent narrator.

Another great addition to the series
Something Wicked is the 3rd in the Black and Blue series, and once again it's brought to vivid life by Joel Leslie's narration.
There are lots of recurring characters - which I was more than happy to see again - and references to past events from the previous books.
This is the darkest book Lily has ever written, I think. While it's definitely still paranormal, there's more than a touch of psychological thriller in here too, and I'm here for it. A serial killer stalking the streets of York with Blue firmly in his sights, it would seem. Add to that a friend from Levi's past who wants to be more, the loss of his psychic powers and you have poor Blue on edge for most of the book. The heart of this story though is Blue and Levi, and I am loving the natural progression of their relationship, I've loved seeing them grow together as the books go on, and that continues here. I love these two together.
There's maybe less of Lily's trademark snark and humour here, that is not a criticism as this book has a different sort of feel to - definitely not in a bad way, but it's there and you don't have to look too hard for it.
Once again Joel Leslie knocks it out of the park with the narration, bringing all the characters to vivid life and enhancing my enjoyment of a great book. Wonderful.

Back with Levi and Blue
The now familiar voices of Blue and Levi made me glad I waited for the audio, even if I did end up creeping myself out with the first half of the book.
The Black and Blue series always has a fair bit of spooky stuff, and this was no different. However, it was different in that this time, the mystery they have to solve is a serial killer who has his eyes on Blue.
Levi and Blue are so settled in their relationship and I love series that return to the same characters because getting to see them happy together, even if outside stuff is falling apart, it's lovely. These two are unshakable.
The narration was solid, as usual with Joel Leslie. All the voices matched my memories of the previous books, making it easy to settle in and enjoy the story.

Can't never get enough of Blue and Levi
I wouldn't mind at all if Lily decides to turn this into a long run series, what with the info we got in the end about Blue's possible new job. I'm here for all the mysteries and paranormal activities!!!
Throughout the whole story it was a treat to read how prevalent Blue and Levi's love was, how balanced their relationship, how supportive they were for one another! Yes Blue was aware how his abilities could monopolize the relationship, but he wasn't letting it. Levi's troubles, opportunities and chances were as valid as his and no one and nothing would get into Blue's way of being there for his partner.
There were horrific things happening, and it had the usual flair of horror/mystery the previous books had, but it's a masterful hand in writing Lily possesses that what you are left with from the story is their love.
Now when it comes to the narration, as much as I love Joel Leslie I think that paranormal isn't his genre or maybe it's my expectation of having all the atmosphere such a genre has to come through, through the narration.

Outstanding
Wow! where do I start?!! I am a fan of Lily's writing and have loved the two previous stories about Blue & Levi, as well as Will & Jem's book. I have two passions when it comes to books: M/M and horror/mystery. Lily has hit the perfect combination of romance/relationship and mystery/suspense. Was it gory AF in places? yes it was, but that's what the TW are for. The violence is not gratuitous - it's necessary to the plot and needed so you can empathise with the MCs as they experience the twists and turns of the story. There is so much tension in places that I was actually holding my breath, I was incapable of hitting stop because I HAD to know what happened. So so good.
Joel Leslie was phenomenal with his performance for this story. He is a master of the many accents required for this vast colourful cast of characters. He gives a distinct voice and personality to each one. Lily piles on the pressure for the reader/listener and Joel brings this even more to life by submerging you in Lily's world of a haunted, mysterious York, of dark alleys and monsters hidden in the shadows. I never wanted to leave, can we go back soon Lily? x

Great story & great narrator
I loved the whole storyline and I do hope that there will be more adventures with Blue and Levi and their family and friends. Would love for Blues father to actually have a place in his life. I also like to see Baldwin to come back and ask for help. I liked him even if he was horrible a lot of times.
