About this listen
The third installment in the best-selling Something Series
Max Horton
They call me an outcast like it's a bad thing.
An asshole by-product of a shitty upbringing, I don't care about anything except myself and my little sister. I will always protect what’s mine.
With one year left on my hockey contract, I'm keeping my head down and my eyes on the goal.
A collision with her changes my entire existence.
Allison Grant
Never fall in love with a sports star. That's what my stepfather always said. He told me athletes are complicated and moody - that the higher their paycheck, the lower their morals.
As public relations for the New York Stingers, I know exactly what he means, but I can’t seem to say no to a friendship with one beautiful, damaged man.
What started out as hate turned into something else. We tried to stay away, to keep our distance, but the pull was too strong.
Something forbidden turned into something so irresistible.

Mad Max has my heart
What did you like most about Something So Irresistible?
If I could give 100 stars, it still wouldn’t be enough!
I don’t usually like stories with assholes turned good guys, but when I read the epilogue to Something So Perfect and realised, who Allison’s partner was gonna be, I was shocked, then intrigued. To me, anything Natasha Madison writes, is gold, she could write a shopping list and I’d love it, but this book, this book is so much more than anything she has previously written.
I laughed, I got angry, I cried and I completely lost my heart and soul to Max Horton, the guy with the rough upbringing, angry at the world and everyone in it, only caring for his sister, until he spends more and more time with the sweet and sexy Allison. With her family hating him due to past mistakes, the two form an unlikely friendship, and get closer and closer, but neither wanting to cross that line and risk getting their heart broken, until one night changes everything. Allison is a strong and sassy heroine, I loved her as a kid in Something So Right, and then her appearances in Matthew and Karrie’s book, as almost an adult, but here, she is most certainly all grown up and knows what she wants.
The cameos from her family, Cooper, Parker and their other children, Justin, Zoe and Zara are hilarious, I can only hope the 2 girls get their own books because they are hellions!
This story isn’t instalove, it has a complete slowburn vibe to it, and I think that’s one of the main reasons I loved it so much. Nothing was forced, they didn’t go from hating each other to loving each other over night, it was a tempestuous journey, and I felt every emotion with them, along the way.
From the very beginning, Max had my heart and this gorgeous, tortured man, never needs to give it back!
Although I’ve read this in 2017, this is my top read of 2018, and I know, the book I will read, over and over again!
As always from Natasha, she smashed it, but this time, she smashed it so hard, it is outta space!
What other book might you compare Something So Irresistible to, and why?
This is a bit of a slow burn book, enemies to lovers, so I would say it's a bit like Mariana Zapata's books in that sense.
What about Joe Hempel and Cassandra Myles ’s performance did you like?
I love Joe's voice, he has narrated other Natasha Madison books and they are all fantastic. Cassandra Myles is a new voice to me, but overall it was great, easy to listen to.
Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I went through every emotion during reading/listening to this book, I went from being angry, to crying, to being absolutely in love with Max Horton.
Any additional comments?
Top listen, anything by this author is gold, but this story has stayed with me since I was lucky enough to receive an ARC copy of it months ago. I've re-read numerous times, and I know I will continue to read and listen to this, many, many more times.

Love love love this story
Bad boys coming good is one of my favourite tropes and the author redeems Max with the most fabulous story
Performed well by the narrators, the story drags you in and it’s hard to press pause or stop to allow real life to intrude!
