Summary
Davina Trent lives for work. She spends her days at her prestigious family law firm, ending her clients’ marriages in divorce court and negotiating their hefty payoffs. Marriage is destined to fail, and family can’t be trusted. But when Trent’s cousin dies unexpectedly, Trent is the only relative left to care for his two small children. She needs a nanny fast.
All Wendy Darling ever wanted was a family. When her fiancée left her and cleared out her bank account, she didn’t think her heart would ever mend. After years abroad as a nanny, she returns to Britain to finish her degree and finally get her life back on track.
Wendy falls in love with the children, but her heart aches at the distance between Trent and the kids. Wendy’s determined to show Trent how fulfilling family life can be, and soon love begins to blossom. But will Trent have the courage to embrace her desire for Wendy and her unexpected family?

Good story almost ruined by shocking narration
I love Jenny Frame books and I have all of them on e-book and audio and this is still a great story and I loved catching up with Dale and Becca from Unexpected. And there’s the rub the Scottish accent was done so well in book one and is so awful in this one. It swings from Irish to Italian and beyond it doesn’t even come close to Glasgow. If that sounds like something that would take you out of the story stick with e-book or paperback.

Good story -Awful narration
The header says it all, Dale sounded Indian, the English was dreadful mix of fake accent and americanised word . If I hadn’t been gardening at the time doubt I would have been able to listen for long - shame!!!

Wrong narrator
Keira Grace is a good narrator.......for books with American characters. Unfortunately, accents deriving from the British Isles are not a strength, which makes me wonder why she was chosen to narrate this book. The characters need a range of accents from Trent and Becca’s cut glass privately educated English, through Wendy’s less posh tones and to Dale’s broad Glaswegian. None of them are really nailed here and poor Dale’s accent is murdered. It’s a good book, not one of the author’s best, but solid. It deserves more from it’s audible performance. Where is the marvellous Nicola Victoria Vincent who did such a great job with Dale and Becca’s story and the Royal series?
