When the love of your life says you're not The One, who are you?

Lizzy and Ian have been a couple since the first week of university. Now, after celebrating a decade together, everyone thinks they're about to get engaged.

Instead, a romantic escape to Dubai leaves Lizzy with no ring, no fiancé and no future.

Lizzy is heartbroken - but through the tears, she sees an opportunity. This is her moment to discover what she's been missing while playing Ian's ideal 'better half'. But how much has Ian changed her, and who should she be without him?

Determined to discover who she is at heart, Lizzy sets out to rediscover the girl she was before - and, in the meantime, have a little fun....

Book was fab - Dull narrator voice

The book was another triumph but oh my goodness the narrators voice was dull and monotone, making the book seem dull even though the story was great. Such a shame, as it spoilt my enjoyment of it.

Fab story.terrible narration.

I love all of Gi's books. This is no exception! A real hope for us all book when things don't quite go to plan!Narrator however is so so monotone! Even the explicit came across dull. Such a shame! There were times I actually thought...yay! Here's she goes... but nope!!Still worth a purchase though! The story is still funny & relatable to my youth!

Good, relaxing listen/read

An interesting and intriguing storyline told from a very human and relatable perspective. The author captures the reality of rediscovering life after a long-term break-up with no exaggerated or glorified emotions, which is what makes this story so captivating and enjoyable to experience.

Exceeded my expectations

I never read these kinda books and felt like choosing something different to balance out a string of non-fiction books I’ve read. I really liked it. The narrator is brilliant and I don’t understand why some people didn’t like her. There was maybe a little too much swearing for my liking but I really enjoyed it.

Fantastic

I hope there is another book to go with this one as I want to know wether Alastair sweeps her off her feet when she finishes her travels. Enjoyed it so much!

Loveeee!

Absolutely loved this story! Everything about it screams real life, & kinda how to deal with things. Her thought process about the situations she finds herself in are so true & real!
Also whoever decided on Emily narrating it, well done! She was amazing! Her accents & The way she brought all the characters to life was brilliant! The whole book is beautiful ❤️

A kind of wonderful book

I loved this book I was totally invested in the characters. It had me giggling out loud in places and without any spoilers (Albie and Sandra’s passage at the end) had me welling up . I loved the narration and inhaled the book. My second of Giovanna’s books and am happily looking forward to choosing her next one.
