About this listen
It is with great pleasure that we are able to retell the stories, first published as Forty Delicious Years, of 40 varied travelers who have Murni and Murni's Warung in common. We initially compiled these recollections in 2014 on the 40th anniversary of Murni's opening of Murni's Warung in Ubud, Bali, the first international-style restaurant in Ubud.
We have renamed this volume So Many Delicious Years, and Murni has added a number of recipes. We are pleased to mention that Forty Delicious Years won the prestigious Gourmand Award in 2019.

Nostalgic memories of Murni's Warung
I have so many happy memories of holidays in Bali . It is a truly beautiful place to visit. I first discovered Ubud and Murni's Warung in the early 80's. I had been staying in Sanur and decided to travel up to Ubud , the cultural heartland of Bali.
I was in search of some authentic Balinese cuisine and the Warung had been strongly recommended. I was not disappointed.
This audiobook brings back so many happy memories. I must confess that I have listened to it almost back to front - starting with the recipes at the end of the audio playlist first.
The stories of 40 patrons of Ubud's most famous restaurant over 40 years was a great listen throughout. Their recollections about this amazing place are so interesting. My favourite audio chapters were " Forsheeza Jolly...Om Shanti Shanti Shanti Om" and " Dausa ...where's My Doggy Bag".
The recipes are delicious and fairly easy to follow . Listening to this audiobook has made me want to revisit Bali and , in particular, Ubud and experience Murni's Warung all over again.

My favourite audio book
I got the book So Many Delicious Years and loved it and just had to get the audio version as well. It’s magnificent. The narrator presents the stories of the 40 patrons of the legendary restaurant Murni’s Warung, Ubud, Bali beautifully. The stories can be enjoyed in one sitting or forty, one at a time, and it’s easy to navigate between them. I loved all of them as they ranged over time and distance, over four decades, from visitors all over the globe, as well as expats. Some are famous, some are everyday people, one is a dog (!), all are delightful. The recipes are an added bonus. Congratulations to Murni, the local Balinese girl, for creating a welcoming haven for hungry visitors, that became an international legend.
A lovely read, a lovely listen, a lovely experience. My favourite audio book.
