Summary
After calling off her engagement, Hayley, the Wynthorpe Hall housekeeper, wants nothing more than to return to her no-strings fun-loving self, avoiding any chance of future heartbreak. Little does she know, Wynbridge’s latest arrival is about to throw her plan entirely off course . . .
Moving into Wynthorpe Hall to escape the town’s gossip, Hayley finds herself immersed in the eccentric Connelly family’s festive activities as they plan to host their first ever Winter Wonderland. But Hayley isn’t the only new resident at the hall. Gabe, a friend of the Connelly’s son Jamie, has also taken up residence, moving into Gatekeeper’s Cottage, and he quickly makes an impression on Wynbridge’s reformed good-girl.
As preparations commence for the biggest event of the season, the pair find themselves drawn ever closer to one another, but unbeknownst to Hayley, Gabe, too, has a reason for turning his back on love, one that seems intent on keeping them apart.

Lovely escapism with perfect narration
The best thing about these books by Heidi Swain is that they are set in the same place and the characters are loosely linked. Although the stories are romantic and idealistic, there is an edge to the characters which makes them and their life stories seem real, and it is satisfying when a familiar character pops up in someone else's story.
Delicious, easy listening, and the narration is spot on.

Very easy listening
Thought it would be a bit more Christmasy. Over all ok I did get a bit board towards the end, just wanted the main characters to get together. Quite predictable.

A winter wonderland
What a lovely story of the “family “ of Angus and Catherine. I certainly hope that there will be a sequel telling of the lives of all the people and the charity which is to be set up at the hall. Beautifully read by Karen Cass. Thank you for writing this story HeidiSwain.

Just right for Christmas!
This was a lovely, warm, endearing story that is just right for Christmas. I love being taken back to Winbridge and meeting up with familiar characters again and as the community unfolds, I increasingly want to move there!!!
Thoroughly recommend the story and thoroughly enjoyed the narration. Please write more Miss Swain.....

A really enjoyable Book
I've listened to almost all of the books around Wynbridge. This one was as good. The different characters & the different twists & turns make this series so enjoyable.
I would definitely recommend it.
