Summary
Young. Ravishing. Exquisitely marriageable. From the moment he spies Lady Morgan Bedwyn across the glittering ballroom, Gervase Ashford, Earl of Rosthorn, knows he has found the perfect instrument of his revenge. But wedlock is not on the mind of the continent's most notorious rake. Nor is it of interest to the fiercely independent Lady Morgan herself...until one night of shocking intimacy erupts in a scandal that could make Gervase's vengeance all the sweeter. There is only one thing standing in his way: Morgan, who has achieved the impossible - she's melted his coolly guarded heart. For Gervase, only the marriage bed will do, but Morgan simply will not have him. Thus begins a sizzling courtship where two wary hearts are about to be undone by the most scandalous passion of all: glorious, all-consuming love. Contains mature themes.

Too tense
I didn’t like this as much as the first three and the heroine sounded her age one moment, childlike, and ancient the next.
I kind of regret spending a whole sleepless night on this but can’t say it was boring
Well narrated though

Loved this book.
Once again I can only say that I really loved this audiobook. I was hoping a different end, but still found this whole book intriguing. Highly recommend if you love this type of reading. X

The end dragged
Good story but terribly predictable. Some interesting aspects re Waterloo. Rosalind Landor did a good job as always.

Lovely book
It is funny other people say that Morgan is childlike one moment and then ancient the next. Although it is an unusual character she has got it is very believable to me as this is literally my character, especially when I was her age. It is because she is exactly like me, reserved and observant, she is also the youngest child so she has learnt a lot from observing her siblings and she can be social but she needs her own time to think and analyse things. It is shocking to me how accurate this is. The author has hit the nailon the head with the characters in my opinion and really tried to keep the story versatile and interesting at the same time. Honestly 5 stars on this review.
As always I cannot stress enough the narrator is unbelievably amazing. 👏

What a hero….
I loved this story, a beautiful and resourceful heroine and a dashing hero with that wonderful French accent. Well done Rosalind Landor for making ‘Cherie’ my new favourite word. It all ended too soon. I’d love to hear more of Morgan & Gervase,
More insights into the complex character of Wulfric too.

Captivating scenes in Brussels
The start of this book I found rather slow, however, as it progressed through the battle of Waterloo I found myself addicted to to story of the couple.

Thoroughly enjoyed.
I have really enjoyed this series. Some more than others. However this one hit all the right notes for history, romance and a little mystery too. Mary Balogh writing was very well narrated by a superb Ms Landor. A great partnership!
