About this listen
Get ready for the biggest NEW publishing phenomena of 2007!
“So you won't keep anything from me again?"
He put his hand to his chest. "Cross my heart and hope to die."
"Okay then. Though you don't actually have a heart," she said.
"I know."
"And technically, you've already died."
"I know that too."
"Just so we're clear."
Stephanie's uncle Gordon is a writer of horror fiction. But when he dies and leaves her his estate, Stephanie learns that while he may have written horror, it certainly wasn't fiction.
Pursued by evil forces intent on recovering a mysterious key, Stephanie finds help from an unusual source – the wisecracking skeleton of a dead wizard.
When all hell breaks loose, it's lucky for Skulduggery that he's already dead. Though he's about to discover that being a skeleton doesn't stop you from being tortured, if the torturer is determined enough. And if there's anything Skulduggery hates, it's torture… Will evil win the day? Will Stephanie and Skulduggery stop bickering long enough to stop it? One thing's for sure: evil won't know what's hit it.

Fantastic reading from a fantastic voice.
Awsome book, I've already read it myself as a child. But it's so nice listening to it. Kudos to the narrator as his Irish accent gave me a sence of realism and really Brough the characters to life.

Loved it! Brilliant considering it's a kids book
It may not be particularly clever or in-depth but it's a nice, easy read (well listen) and keeps your attention. Perfect if you don't want to dedicate all your concentration to listening, you won't need to constantly skip back because you missed a bit!

Amazing novel.
absoloutly loved this book, the structure was amazing, at the end of every chapter you can't wait to read the next. The story is amazing and it ends very well, enticing you in to read the next edition to the series. would recommend it to anyone.

Fantastic.
Fantastic from start to finish. The voices for the various characters were very well done and the emotion put into them was great.

Light Hearted and fun to read
I enjoyed this book, I do find that I often enjoy children's sci-fi as it is less 'intense'. However, I think it could get a bit boring to read too many of the series, but I might try another in due course.
The story is quite simple and the characters are entertaining - from the absolutely horrid aunt and family, to Skulduggery Pleasant, who is certainly 'interesting! overall quite a pleasant way to spend a few hours

Unusual naration
the narrator took some getting used as the voices he used were not quite what I had imagined when I read the books. however once I got used to it he told the story amazingly and I enjoyed every minute. the story is funny and sad all at once but is an amazing begining to a brilliant series I'm looking forward to hearing the rest

A detective story with a magical twist
Thank you to my friend who recommended this book to me, we both love Terry Pratchett. Stephanie finds there is a different world out there after her uncle dies. If you enjoy detective books, mystery and magic, you'll love this.
