Summary

When Brendan Leonard moved to the West at age 23, he was a mess. He had a tenuous grip on sobriety, only six months after his last drink had landed him in yet another jail cell. It was the final mistake in a long list that included multiple arrests, wrecked cars, broken bones, fistfights, and ruined relationships.

In Montana, he took his first steps into the Rocky Mountains, unwittingly beginning a decade-long obsession with climbing and a journey that would take him all over the West and Europe. Told with unflinching honesty and vulnerability, Sixty Meters to Anywhere is the memoir of a barstool storyteller who left the bar and found adventure, redemption, and a life that almost never happened.

Thought Provoking and Brilliantly Narrated

A touching book about the trials and tribulations of everyday life and how important it is to continue to strive forward. I’ll appreciate the next hike or dinner with family more because of this.

Interesting story, bad narrator

Inspiring

Loved this book. Raw and honest, it gives hope we can all make changes in our lives no matter how low we go. The immense love Brendan shows for his gran, and his family, and how he rebuilds himself through climbing is a real testimony of courage and determination. Read this book you will laugh and cry.

Honest, Gripping, and Rmotional

A great insight into the struggle addiction can have on you, and the release the outdoors can have on recovery and mental health.

Enlightening story.

This could be the start to your 60m journey.

After reading this I found semi rad.com
( Brandon's company ) for the middle age adventurer in all of us, his philosophy and approach to outdoor activities is super refreshing.

Boring.... Sorry... Didn't finish.

Kudos to the guy for giving up the booze but oh my, such a dull book. Nothing of any interest in it at all. Anyone can write a book but not everyone should.

Very Dull

Couldn’t finish this book. It was dull and uninspiring and felt rather self indulgent. Repetitive narrative re authors experiences of maintaining sobriety.

A story of sobriety

It’s a decent story well told. I read it because I knew of the author and his background in the outdoor space.
