About this listen
Patients with eating disorders frequently feel that they aren't "sick enough" to merit treatment, despite medical problems that are both measurable and unmeasurable. They may struggle to accept rest, nutrition, and a team to help them move towards recovery. Sick Enough offers patients, their families, and clinicians a comprehensive, accessible review of the medical issues that arise from eating disorders by bringing relatable case presentations and a scientifically sound, engaging style to the topic. Using metaphor and patient-centered language, Dr. Gaudiani aims to improve medical diagnosis and treatment, motivate recovery, and validate the lived experiences of individuals of all body shapes and sizes, while firmly rejecting dieting culture.

Values each individual
A super book, goes through all the risks/symptoms/concerns, of anyone enduring an ED. Gives sufferers/carers/friends/family, guidance and notes in what to look out for/ how to support and what actions to take and when.
Emphasises that you don’t have to be acutely or chronically unwell physically or psychologically in order to be worthy of help.
Each person is worthy, of good health, both physical and psychological.

Incredible
This is an incredibly informative and comprehensive book. It is full of medical information while incredibly inclusive and compassionately discussing illustrative case studies. On top of that it is superbly well written and well read. I can’t recommend this book highly enough, whether you are interested in eating disorders, work with, suffer from or know somebody with an eating disorder, disordered eating or you have ever been on a weight loss diet this book is for you.
