About this listen
A high-stakes trilogy condensed into one fast-paced thriller and the inspiration behind the global smash-hit TV Drama Secret City.
When seasoned journalist Harry Dunkley is slipped a compromising photograph of a federal MP one frosty Canberra morning, he knows he is onto something big. But the deeper Harry investigates, the more he realises that this photograph is merely the hint of a larger conspiracy at work, and a secret its guardians are willing to kill to protect. In this riveting trilogy, the national capital becomes a battleground as Australia is snared in a dangerous dance with superpowers America and China, and war looms ever closer.

Great political thriller
Thoroughly enjoyable and unexpectedly engaging - a fascinating story about Australian and US/Chinese ambition and intrigue with an interesting 'tour' of Aussie politics and process like most fiction some of the coincidences stretched credulity a little but still a great tale.

Very good, entertaining and never boring.
I really enjoyed this book. Took a while to remember who everyone was to begin with but worth it. Entertaining, good narrator and never boring. The story inspired the TV drama of the same name which I also enjoyed, luckily the book differs from the TV drama which meant I didn't know the plot of the book before I listened. As a brit I enjoyed the straight talking Aussies. I'll miss listening so I may even listen to this again.
