Summary

On top of the world

As the world warms, civilian and commercial traffic through the Arctic increases. More people means a greater need for help, and Just Cause Arctic Circle is the superhero team assigned to find those who are lost and endangered due to accidents, environmental hazards, or their own foolhardiness.

A rescue gone awry

Rookie hero Maia, known as Devilfish, joins the team and barely has a chance to get to know her teammates before a powerful Arctic hurricane sends them out on an urgent rescue mission. They expect to find civilians trapped on a foundering ship. Instead, with the storm assaulting them like a juggernaut, they find something much, much worse.

They're not well-equipped. They're not scientists. They're not warriors.

But they're humanity's only hope.

Captivating

Wow, another super hero team and a great adventure. In this instalment you are introduced to a whole new idea for a super team, one that doesn't concentrate on fighting super villains but on rescuing humans from extreme and dangerous conditions in the Arctic. That's not to say that the story doesn't quickly take a turn and the hero's are soon battling to save all of humanity. The main hero is a new recruit who has just graduated from the Hero academy. There is also some familiar faces and it was great to find out what became of the hero's that decided to stay in the secret base on the moon. So there is elements of several books from the series in here or mentioned but it can be read or listened to as a standalone. Having heard all the rest of the series it has more meaning if you have a little bit of background knowledge though, besides the books are a lot of fun. I hope the author has plans for another adventure for the Just Cause Arctic Circle team.
Maia known as Devilfish has just graduated from the Hero academy and still unsure of herself or her role as a super hero heads to the arctic to join her new team. This team is different and instead of focussing on combat skills and power house hero's the team is built for there ability to rescue people and cope with the server cold. So when a hurricane is head there way and they receive a distress signal from a ship Maia and the rest of the team head out. They find an abandoned ship and no sign of what happened to the crew. As the hurricane ramps up so does there situation. A Just Cause team should be able to cope with most things but The arctic circle team finds themselves in over there heads and with members already injured are they ready for a fight for there lives against an opponent the likes of which they have never met before.
I like the narrator. She has done most of the narrating for this great series and there is a reason for that, she always puts in an excellent performance to keep you entertained.
