Summary
Jahresbeginn 2005: Privatdetektivin Katinka Palfy ist vom Pech verfolgt. Erst wird sie Opfer eines Anschlags, dann verschwindet ihre Beretta, um kurz darauf wieder aufzutauchen: als Mordwaffe in einem Fall ohne Beweise, dafür mit umso mehr Motiven. Katinka folgt der Spur in das mittelalterliche Städtchen Coburg, wo sie sich sehr zum Missfallen der dortigen Polizei in die Ermittlungen einklinkt. Diese führen sie zur Arbeitsstelle des Toten, einer Werbeagentur. Als die Detektivin erkennt, dass seelische Abgründe hinter scheinbarem Glück und beruflichem Erfolg klaffen, wird der Burghof der trutzigen Veste Coburg zur tödlichen Falle.
