About this listen
Keegan:
Sightseeing, gay bars...and if I'm lucky, maybe a couple of random hookups. That's the extent of my plans when I sign up for a European vacay with my buddies. I've never heard of this Parlaisa country - but hey - a cheap flight and two-star hotel are perfect for a poor college kid, right? And the trip turns out to be even better than I could have possibly imagined when I end up in a bar with some sexy masked guy's tongue down my throat.
And damn...what a tongue.
Even with his face partially obscured, Sexy Masked Guy can't hide those hypnotic steel blue eyes, his chiseled jawline, or the gun show he's working with under that tight T-shirt. But after our kiss, he proves to be nothing more than a cocky, dismissive a-hole. As if that isn't bad enough, flash forward - after one hell of a misunderstanding, I'm arrested by the Parlaisan royal guard and taken to a dungeon, where I learn that Sexy Masked Guy is actually Sexy Prince.
Prince Owen Hawthorne III.
Yes, I was kissing the Prince of Parlaisa!
Even worse, pics of us kissing are posted on the notorious Prince Watch blog. Prince Owen III has been unmasked by the paps, and we've both been outed. And here I had been planning to finally tell my family about my inclinations towards rainbows, glitter, and c--k as soon as I got back home to Fever Falls.
Seems like my vacation can't get any wackier, but now, Prince Owen needs a favor - a fake relationship favor. All I have to do is pretend to be his boyfriend for a good cause and some cash that I could really use right about now. But do I really want to team up with a guy who's been nothing but a prick to me in the short time that I've known him?
Of course, before I know it, I'm in too deep. Fortunately, Owen's strict "no messing around" rule will keep this from getting out of control.
Even though I can't stop thinking about how he knew exactly what he was doing with his tongue.
Even though he loves watching me prance around in my underwear.
Even though he can't get enough of me on my knees, doing what I do best.
Dammit - did we already screw this up?
Talk about a #RoyalProblem.
#Royal is part of the Fever Falls series but can be enjoyed as a stand-alone.

A Bit Boring
I'm sorry to say that I found this story a bit boring. The heart-to-heart sharing by Owen and Keegan, and later by Lucas and Owen, was my favorite part, but I just didn't feel the connection between Owen and Keegan. Maybe it was the age difference, I'm not sure. The story felt a little disjointed with the hopping back and fort between countries. I also found it challenging to keep all the ancillary characters and relationships straight, most likely because this was my first book in the series. I was also a little thrown off by the fact that the story didn't really deal much with the marriage equality issue which is what I thought started the whole relationship. I would rather have seen a friends to lovers story between Owen and his best friend. I think that would have been hot, and more understandable. To sum it up, I think if you have read/listened to the first three books in the series, you will have less trouble getting into this one and enjoy it more. The relationship just didn't click for me.
The narration by Michael Pauley was strong as always. Great tone, pacing, and emotion.
I received a complimentary copy of this audiobook through the author and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.

Royal swoon
Another great instalment in the Fever Falls series, a fake relationship, age gap and a straight but not quite MC with some royal flair. I bought the book as soon as it came out and devoured it in one sitting, the audiobook totally enhances the story. Michael Pauley really captures Keegan and Owen’s voices, Michael Pauley has a fantastic ability of conveying all the emotions the characters go through. I was even more immersed in this story whilst listening.
Keegan goes on a holiday to Parlaisa to really discover himself and he certainly got a lot more than he bargained for. A chance meeting with Prince Owen sees him arrested after a misunderstanding and then part of a fake relationship with the Royal. Keegan and Owen experience many ups and downs on their journey to HEA, there are a few tough subjects covered in their story which Devon McCormack deals with brilliantly. I really couldn’t get enough of these two, they were super hot but then this is a Devon McCormack book so that’s no surprise.
This can be enjoyed as a stand-alone but I would definitely recommend going back through the Fever Falls series, we meet all previous couples in Royal and all their stories are fab.

Another great book from Devon and Michael.
Like all of Devons book this one was sex and hot. This one was no exception. What starts out as a fun college trip turns out to be way more than what Keegan expected. This was my first of the series but I can't wait to check out more.

Nice enough
A fake to real relationship story. At the start of this book I thought that Prince Owen was a bit of a prat but he kinda grew on me as the book progressed. Keegan was an absolute sweetie right from the start.
This was not my favourite of the trope, but it was nice enough, I did however have reservations about how they would have worked for having such wildly differing life experience, the age gap for me wasn't an issue and could have been completely forgotten about except it was brought up quite often. In fact there was points I thought Owen acted younger than Keegan!
I am going to go back and read/listen to others in the series as I want see how some of the secondary characters' for their relationships and I want to know what happens next in the town of Fever falls. Michael Pauley is as ever brilliant, I could listen to his voice all day... wait I did!

Royal -ly Fantastic
Keegan is a college student that is working the bars to see him through college. His friends ae going to a tiny country called Parlaisia in Europe and ask him to go with them.
He thinks ok , never heard of this place but you never know, i can see the sights troll the gay bars for inspiration an maybe get lucky.
Owen is a Prince of Parlaisia, and once a month he and his "adviser" Frederic go and have a blow out. The fact that they double down with women DOES NOT mean they do each other. Owen's country is coming up to a vote on same sex marriage, which the royal family are in favour of but Owen's brother the king can't be shown to be openly favouring this act. The fact that their mother the Queen was in a lesbian relationship for many years does not help the king.
They meet at a bar when the cos-play festival is in full swing, and Keegan ends up kissing Owen who is wearing a mask hiding his face so as not to be recognised. There are fireworks as this kiss blows them both away.
Keegan ends up in the palace dungeons after a misunderstanding and Owen rescues him.
This is the story of Owen and Keegan's meet-cute and how they develop as a couple.
It's a lovely story and as usual Michael Pauley makes the character come alive.
I wish I could have Michael wrapped up and sent to me so I can listen to hos voice eveyday.

#LoveFeverFalls
I’m really enjoying the Fever Falls Series, #Royal is the 4th book, written by Devon McCormack and is probably the one I enjoyed the most so far. It can totally be read/listened as a stand-alone but you will get more out of the characters if you read them in order.
There was so much that appealed to me in this book, the fantasy of meeting and falling in love with a Prince from a fictional country, fake relationship, age gap and discovering ones sexuality.
I loved the relationship between Keegan and Prince Owen and how it develops.
It’s also great to meet up with some familiar characters from previous books and some characters that may star in the next book. I look forward to catching up with them all.

Prince Charming?
Michael Pauley is probably my favourite narrator and he does an excellent job with this book as I've come to expect from him. I've not read any of the other Fever Falls books yet, though I feel that I need to rectify this at some point as I've read many of Devon's other stories. I love Devon's writing style and blend of humour, sass and fun with plenty of man on man sexy times. This tale of a commoner meeting a European prince was enchanting and exciting. Highly recommended for all lovers of Contemporary MM romance and of stories involving royals in particular.

Princely Romance ❤️
I am loving the Fever Falls series by Devon McCormack and Riley Hart. This is the forth book and although not my favourite so far, I very much enjoyed it.
We met Keegan earlier in the series so it’s nice to see him grown and finding his HEA. It was great to see the relationship developing between him and Prince Owen, although at times our Royal Highness could definitely be a bit of a nob!
It’s fairly slow burn, hot once it gets there and a proper old fashioned caper in parts. A good fun listen.
Michael Pauley’s narration is brilliant, his accents are fab and his comedy timing is impeccable.
I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.

Mind-blowing
This book to being with was wonderful. I enjoyed everything from the characters to the plot. McCormack has an talent for spinning tales. Pauley's narration stretches his talents and proves that he is an exceptional master of a vast range of characters. All and all absolutely enjoyable,
