Summary
After a failed attempt to assassinate Hitler in peacetime, the mysterious hero of Geoffrey Household's classic 1939 thriller Rogue Male goes undercover in the heart of Nazi Germany, scheming and planning for a second opportunity.
When his cover is blown, he makes his way to neutral Sweden and reports to the British Embassy, where his story is not believed, and he is sent back to Germany. With nothing to lose, the rogue male declares his own reckless private war, with no intention of taking prisoners. His crusade against Nazi ideology takes him through Poland, Hungary, Romania, Turkey, Greece and finally, via sunken ships and hi-jacked planes, to Palestine and then Africa.
Bluffing and fighting his way across occupied Eastern Europe, he allies himself to Jews escaping their fate in Auschwitz, partisans and resistance groups; always with the Gestapo on his tail. But his enemies find to their cost that hunting a professional big game hunter is a dangerous game. Rogue Justice, written 40 years after the sensational Rogue Male, is far more than a non-stop action thriller. It paints a picture of a Europe lost to the brutality of Nazi aggression and how one noble spirit seeks justice for the cruel wrongs done to the land, the people - and the woman - he loved.
Yet it is in Africa, where he honed his skills as a predator, that destiny, love and death finally combine to conclude our hero's story.

Sadly quite disappointing
Narration was excellent and best bit about this audiobook. Written in the 1980s, Rogue Justice has none of tension, grip and immediacy of Rogue Male. The characters are fairly two dimensional stereotypes (very obviously devised postwar with plenty of hindsight) and the story is a succession of improbable but actually pretty disinteresting escapades each culminating in a wild firefight or implausible escape. Not an especially bad book but really nothing on the first book in story, pace or writing. I was very disappointed. The bits in the Balkans and Middle East was the most interesting, reflecting Households own time there with British intelligence in the war.

Disappointing
Loved the Rogue Male. Was extremely excited to find this book, however, was soon very disappointed.. This feels more like an attempt at an easy pay-day, purely due to the performance of a previous book. No effort has been made when writing this, regret purchasing this book.
Should have just left it at the Rogue Male..

Still trying to decide
I read Rogue Male at school so I thought I would give Rogue Justice a go, it’s certainly not as good as R.M I can’t decide whether I liked it or not, l stayed with it until finished but not impressed.
I certainly won’t dismiss it so give it a go, possibly i expected to much.

Superb
Extremely well written and reader brings out the suspense and action with skill.The plot moves at pace and is very difficult to predict at any stage. A most enjoyable and enthralling listen.Superb

Poor sequel
The first in the series, Rogue Male, was excellent due to its intricate and well-paced storyline with only a few locations, characters and a handful of action scenes (our hero ended up with just 2 kills his name).
The sequel seems like a different writer with the action set in 10+ countries, a huge cast of characters and a gunfight every few pages. The ‘romantic’ parts are cringe inducing. Overall entertaining but not a classic like it’s predecessor.

A real adventure, written at a time and in a style that feels more real
Definitely read this after the prequel. It fills in some characterisation blanks and builds nicely. I found the pace faster and more involving or perhaps I'd just gained familiarity with the style and adjusted my reading. Whatever...I found this riveting. It's Boy's Own stuff at its best.

Far to intricate and unbelievable
Too many interwoven stories and unlikely / fantasy interactions.
The story doesn’t draw you in.
The character isn’t actually likeable… in fact by mid way through I found him smarmy and aloof.
Give this one a wide berth
