About this listen
Jet McAlister has a secret. Eddie Chavez has the hots for Jet (not to mention Eddie’s just plain hot). Jet has too many problems to realize that Eddie’s interested. Eddie loses patience when Jet ends her waitressing shift at a strip club with a knife at her throat. Since Eddie’s a cop, he figures he can help. Since Jet’s used to solving everyone’s problems she doesn’t want Eddie’s help.
Throw in a Dolly Parton look-alike, a gruff but lovable strip club owner, Jet’s ne’er do well father, his ne’er do well friend, Bear, Bear’s long-suffering, chain-smoking wife Lavonne and the crew from Rock Chick and you’ve got Rock Chick Rescue.
Rock Chick Rescue takes you on a wild ride with Jet, Eddie and the gang as they wrestle bad guys in a bagel shop, hit Denver’s backstreet poker tables (with big hair), and help the strippers at Smithie’s take down a would-be murderer.
Through this, Jet’s got to learn that even when life made you give up your dreams, you can still end up with the (hot) guy. Eddie’s got to rescue Jet from a bad man (so he can do better things with her) and teach her that some dreams can come true.

Cute and fun book.
I love KA books and Susannah Jones’ performance is outstanding. It was a fun, light reading with hot scenes, shoot outs, bar brawls.... comedy and action.

Great fun!
This is a super mix of humour, thriller and romance. It isn't high literature but a brilliant escape from real life.

My only wish is for a dual pov with a male narrator. Kristen Ashley is on the role!

Jett is such a great character.
This series is everything. Jett is a strong survivor with a lot on her plate. I love how this relationship builds. Susannah gives these characters great personalities.

Deja by
I really had high hopes for this book after so enjoying the first. However disappointment ensued after realising that this is an almost replica of the first book; the focus relationship is nearly identical along with the sequence of events. The sex scenes are superfluous and awkward, and I could not get to grips with the main character referring to her lady part as a 'doo dah' (a term normally reserved for the package your pet dog deposits while out on a walk).
The performance is wonderful and I really enjoy Susannah's voice (maybe not so much whilst uttering the term doo dah!) but I am left wondering I want to continue with this series. *spoiler alert* Will they all be the same formulaic 'boy meets girl, girl needs help, boy protects girl from bad guys, freakishly hot guy falls for low self esteem girl and pursues in controlling manner'.

Rock Chick escapism for the Rock Chick fans
Jet is working several jobs to support her sick mother, and cop Eddie gets involved when her deadbeat father puts her in danger. I have read all the Rock Chick stories but I am finding on audible they are not so good. Or maybe I am just a bit older and less tolerant!
Jet spent most of the story acting and thinking like an immature 16 year old virgin. All the men she meet instantly adore her, but she has a weird hangout that she is not pretty so does not actually deserve a good looking guy. To be honest I was a little annoyed at the constant reminder of how important it is to be beautiful, especially as most of the time Jet could not even manage a decent conversation with any of the ‘hot guys.’ Sorry, that’s not attractive, and the fact they seemed to adore her nevertheless just makes them all seem a bit shallow. Through most of the book Jet actively tried to push Eddie away, including doing everything to get out of having sex with him, even after having fabulous sex with him! Eventually being ‘reluctant’ became weird. I found myself wishing Eddie would brush her off and go with someone who actually appreciated having him around, especially when Jet repeatedly put herself in danger by making dumb decisions, and then has a ‘thing’ with at least three other guys. It did not make sense that all these super hot guys were so attracted to her: Seriously, a girl having a hair pulling, scratching fight on the floor of a coffee shop with her sister is not cute, or sexy; and sneaking off to meet up with the someone who wants to rape you, when you are surrounded by professional security guys, all willing to help, is the ultimate TSTL moment. This book has the bones of a good story, but a good relationship is a partnership, not one person doing stupid stuff, while the other person had to constantly bail them out.
Sorry, my review is pretty awful for a writer that I really admire. Maybe I have just grown out of the Rock Chick series. They are a definite bit of escapism, and they do have a loyal following. I think they are better on kindle, where it is possible to skim over the idiotic bits. The narration of this book was perfect, but some story lines just do not hold up on audible.

Oh god Eddie please just shoot her!
I love the Rock Chick series and have read them all on Kindle and decided to download them to enjoy in the car and the office. I found Jet high irritating when I read the book but the audible version just made me want to shoot her. She is a whining, whinging, completely clueless and selfish person. She has no idea and has the mental fortitude of a 5 year old. Of all the rock chick books this woman is no rock chick more road kill!
