About this listen

Kace Hallard leaves Sacramento, bound for the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, something he and his father had always planned to do together. When his father realizes he won’t be able to make the trip, he makes Kace promise to go on his own. He takes off, not sure he’s up to the challenge. When he has mechanical trouble a few hours away from home, he questions his choice even more.

Striker Johnson is just out buying lunch for the guys at the shop when he notices the handsome stranger in the parking lot checking over his Harley and looking confused. He approaches him and offers his help. The next few hours fly by, and Kace asks Striker to join him.

It’s the trip of a lifetime for them both, one man looking to ease his grief, the other riding toward emotions he has no hope of controlling. One way or another, they’ll have to decide if they ride together or separately, when life throws them one more curve.

A beautiful love story

Kace Hallard leaves Sacramento on his motorbike, bound for the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and to scatter his father's ashes on the journey.

After a few miles, Kace's bike breaks down, and Striker offers help at his shop. That's the start of a beautiful journey through America.

Well written, good solid characters that we can relate to—a love story of how strong you can be with someone by your side. Beautiful HEA.

Good narration from Curtis Michael. Very clear and easy to listen to. Although, like usual, I sped up the audio, and I listened at 1.40 speed on audible, but I prefer all my audios to be quicker.

I enjoyed listening to this

I'd already read this book so I was looking forward to how it would feel and portray in audible as it did for me when I read it. First off this book was emotional and dare I say the cliche word a journey,😏 quite literally in the sense of the bike ride to honour jaces dad and meandering their way through lives obstacles and discovering themselves and love.
It really pulled on the heart strings, and was uplifting at the same time and I thought the narrator did it justice with a good range of voices that was discernable and managed to come off with the right emotional depth to their tone. Scenery and descriptions were good that it felt you were there with the characters experiencing it.All in all I enjoyed it.

Emotional!

Story: An emotional story of love, adventure and healing. I liked how the relationship between the MCs bloomed, starting with a totally accidental meeting. These are the stories that pull you in with how relatable they are and how genuine. I really enjoyed the story!
Performance: A good narration. The female voices were a bit grating, but overall it was a good narration.

The Ride of a Lifetime

This book has been a complete sensory experience for me. I followed Kace and Striker in their ride from Sacramento to Sturgis on Google Maps, I listened to the same songs they blasted through their helmet intercoms and I salivated over the different foods they tried over their road trip through the various states.
A beautiful story of overcoming grief, paying homage and finding love on the way.

as good as the ebook

The story is always 4-5 stars, because if I wouldn't like the story as ebook, I wouldn't listen to the audiobook. I can't listen to an audiobook without knowing the book, that's not possible for me.

The performance from the narrator is also very important for me. I can't listen to a lot, because my English as a non-native-speaker isn't so perfect to follow a whole story over hours, when the narrator speaks too fast or too sloppy. Normally I have to SEE the person, who is talking to me in English. It took me a little bit, to come into the narrator, but at the end, it worked. I only have to take a few breaks between. I'm just not yet finish with the book, I’m over the half, but I listen enough to give a review.

PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!

To my ratings:

5* - very very good
it's like an A+

4* - very good and will be often re-listening
it's like an A

3* - it's more then a one-time-listening.
it's like a B
