Summary
How to rewire your brain to improve virtually every aspect of your life - based on the latest research in neuroscience and psychology on neuroplasticity and evidence-based practices.
Not long ago, it was thought that the brain you were born with was the brain you would die with, and that the brain cells you had at birth were the most you would ever possess. Your brain was thought to be hardwired to function in predetermined ways. It turns out that's not true. Your brain is not hardwired; it's "softwired" by experience. This book shows you how you can rewire parts of the brain to feel more positive about your life, remain calm during stressful times, and improve your social relationships.
Written by a leader in the field of Brain-Based Therapy, it teaches you how to activate the parts of your brain that have been underactivated and calm down those areas that have been hyperactivated, so that you feel positive about your life and remain calm during stressful times. You will also learn to improve your memory, boost your mood, have better relationships, and get a good night's sleep.
Rewire Your Brain reveals how cutting-edge developments in neuroscience and evidence-based practices can be used to improve your everyday life. Explaining exciting new developments in neuroscience and their applications to daily living, this audiobook will guide you through the process of changing your brain so you can change your life and be free of self-imposed limitations.
Dr. Arden is a leader in integrating the new developments in neuroscience with psychotherapy and director of training in mental health for Kaiser Permanente for the Northern California Region. Other titles by Dr. Arden include Brain-Based Therapy - Adult, Brain-Based Therapy - Child, Improving Your Memory for Dummies and Heal Your Anxiety Workbook.

Informative but academic.
I felt it would be better to read rather than listen to this book. The abbreviations need a glossary.

This is ‘ok’
I thought that some of the advice was useful but quite basic in some areas, the science behind was interesting

Rewire Your Brain
I stumbled across this audio book when I was new to Audible. Whilst it's quite full of jargon, I found the content absolutely intriguing and engaging. Rather than being put off by the jargon, I let it flow just to add context to the key point being made. I've read many self development books but I loved the way the holistic nature of this book in that the body, emotions and minds are all interrelated and each has an effect or impact on the others. The useful stories of past clients helped to put the theory into reality and it's amazing how many elements I could recognise in my own life, past or present. Having it in audio form is great as I may have struggled to keep going in written form with the amount of detail. However, I took a leaf out of James Arden's book and played it on my iPhone as I went for my daily walk or cycle. So I was getting the benefits of inspirational education at the same time as physical exercise. I have since gone on to buy two more of his books.

Very interesting
I've loved this audio book and have learnt a lot from it. I intend to listen to it once or twice more to fully get to grips with the content. The only downside was the voice of the narrator, which was very computer-like (sorry). Despite that I still thoroughly enjoyed the listen!

Great book, terrible read!
Why are so many brilliant audiobooks spoilt by bad reads. This guy sounds like a computer for much of the time. A shame, it's such a good book.

Terrible reader but a lovely book
The book is great although I wouldn’t say the same for this reader. Would have been better with a reader that was more engaging.

Content is great - reader is terrible
This is really useful information but is somewhat spoiled by the fact that listening to it is actually hard work. Mr Williams reads it without any attention to punctuation, paragraphs or pauses. The end of a section, for example, runs straight into the title of the next section without any pause at all, so that you would think that the section title is part of the previous sentence. I am astonished that the guy was actually paid for the narrating gig - perhaps he wasn't.
That said the content is applicable and interesting enough to go through the listening process:just

verbal brain food
I found this very helpful and inspiring to help me understand how my brain work. The scientific information provided a sound proof to try using it for personal development. I listened to this mostly on my way to work as it provided a productive way of utilizing my already busy lifestyle. It's definitely worth the cost of the book.
