Summary

Humans often aren't rational. We are animals, and we evolved to mate and to survive, not to compute. Although our intuitive decision-making process served us well in prehistoric times, in modern times we need to think more deliberately in order to avoid our biases.

In the first part of Rational Thinking and Investing, hedge fund manager Jaret Wilson examines the science of behavioral economics to show how and why we think irrationally, and how we can do better with a more scientific process. The second part of the audiobook applies the lessons learned to the practice of investing in the stock market. Concise and eye-opening, Rational Thinking and Investing helps listeners become not only more successful investors but also more rational decision-makers in every aspect of life.

A hidden gem!

I spent a lot of time reading, re-reading, and taking notes from this book. I learned a lot about my own biases and how to combat them and I still revisit my notes for this whenever I need to make an important decision.

I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to improve their decision-making skills, especially in the context of investing. This book provides a foundational understanding of everything you need.
