About this listen

Stuart Jenner's job is high stress, high stakes, and everything he's strived for. So why, when the apex of his career is within reach, does he stumble? At his doctor's insistence, he books a privately chartered yacht to sail around the Whitsundays for two weeks of sun, surf, and sex. When his friend-with-benefits bails on him at the last minute, Stuart decides to go alone.

Foster Knight left the rat race behind six years ago, bought a yacht, and now calls the Great Barrier Reef his home. Sailing tourists around tropical waters is all in a day's work, and he's never been happier. When his next client arrives alone, the two-week charter will be the most private job he's ever had.

Foster can see how stressed and exhausted Stuart is, and he promises him extensive rest and relaxation. Stuart slowly realizes his original plan for two weeks of sun, surf, and sex might not be lost yet. Confined to a yacht, isolated by aqua-colored oceans and the sweltering sun, Stuart and Foster are about to find out just how hot the tropics can get.

Contains mature themes.

Sweet romance

A sweet romance with a cheesy movie-like end. It was fun to pass time with.
Enjoyable!

It was ok

Aspects of this book were nice, but others were a bit slow and dragging. All a bit tepid and doesn’t grab you by the heart or drag you into the story as you would hope.

Lovely

The story was very sweet and everything I expected.
Sadly the narration was a bit robotic. The narrator had one Aussie accent he used for both characters, so at times it was hard to figure out whose head we were in.

Not impressed

This book is a mixed one for me. I love the concept of an overworked hardcore banker taking a rest and relaxation cruise and encountering an attractive sailor to boot. To be completely honest the story and the premise is good as in most of N.R.Walker's books. The characters are well developed and interesting as well as the beautiful descriptions of Australia. However! After reading some of the most astounding literature out there regarding M/M romance genre, I am underwhelmed at Walker's writing style. It is sadly a little repetitive and in a lot of scenes I lost track who is saying what and some of the scenes tend to blend together. Don't get me wrong the scenes are as spicy as one would want in a romance novel, but when you are reading through one of them and have a feeling of dejavu or sometimes just want the plot to move on already that is where you know you have a problem. As in many of Walker's writing it feels as if nothing is happening for a long long time. And when it actually does it passes by so quickly that you feel that all that waiting was for nothing.
On the other hand, if you do not want riveting plotlines, betrayals most foul or a mystery to solve in your M/M romance and simply want to experience a vibe or a setting or a premise to its full casual potential then this is for you a 100%. It is just not something I prefer in my books as I easily get bored. This is why my review has 4 stars and not 3 (even with all the above mentioned complaints) as I appreciate this book for what it is and it is not pretending to be more.

The narration was not the best. It was very difficult to distinguish which character said what or follow the flow of the conversation. The narrator was trying though unlike some that usually ruin an audiobook for me. But I would not stalk him on audible to find more of the books he has done, as I do for many other narrators (cough Joel leslie, cough Hamish McKinleigh)

Smooth Sailing

Quaint enjoyable drama, well written, well planned, but narrated by someone who you could imagine reading the news! Humour, perfect mental and physical connection and sadness, the true elements of love. Well worth the voyage.

A heady amount of excitment love and adventure

Enjoy the trip along the coast of Australia with a growing love with the captain and get misty eyed in the epilogue. This another N R walker gem.

Not a fan of the narrater

The story was ok but was a bit slow in places.
I struggled with the narrater, his voice was just one level and it was hard to understand which character was talking sometimes.

Low angst and swoony.

Low angst and swoony, like many of NR Walker's stories.

I loved how their HEA was down to earth, nothing over the top and silly.

Great audio.

A nice love story

I liked the story and the main characters. This won't have your pulse racing or keep you on the edge of your seat. However it is a gently rolling love story. The only let down was the narrator, as other reviews have mentioned, his voice is very monotonous and there is no distinction between the two main characters.
