About this listen

Jay Roy Hobbs held the county record for talking ladies out of their panties. At least that’s what Tizzy Cooper had always heard. But when she and her two best friends discover Jay Roy’s naked body lying in a field, his reputation becomes the prime motive for the murder. Three ex-wives, a talking parrot, and 15 former girlfriends help make this the zaniest cast of characters yet in Emma’s Sweet Thangs Mystery Series.

A colourful mystery

I really enjoyed this book. This is book three in this fun and quirky mystery series but as each book is a stand alone book you don't need to read them in the correct order, although they have all proved to be good for a listen. I like the cast of characters, which were sometimes funny and other time just plain crazy. The mystery plot was interesting and I liked the way they worked which girlfriend was which by the colour of the ribbon used, it gives a whole new meaning to the little black book. Tizzy and her daughter do speak to ghosts but it you don't like that sort of thing in your mystery don't let it put you off because the ghost only has a very small part to play and it is definitely a murder mystery with a very big suspect pool to choose from. I can't wait for the next adventure.
Jay Rob liked to think he his a ladies man, well be was the only boy to take up the her of dating every girl in his year. But personally Tizzy doesn't see the attraction when she and her best friends find his naked dead body in a field. With nobody, no transport and no clothes it is definitely murder and Tizzy 's husband the Texas ranger will have his work cut out for him. A school reunion is in town and all fifteen ex girlfriends of the deceased have decided to attend. The ladies seem proud of the fact that he kept trophies of his conquests by assigning them each a different coloured ribbon and then keeping it. So why would anyone kill him. If Tizzy hopes to see anything of her husband anytime soon she might just have I lend a hand in finding his killer and keeping the ex wives apart.
I really liked the narrator. I am not really a bit fan of when narrator use accents for the characters but Sandra Parker did such a good job that I enjoyed all the voices she used.
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
