Great story

Very tense and a good outlook on the life of an imperial, nice match of dark and light look forward to the next chapter

Too short

After spending 5-6hrs building the story (akin to winding up a spring) the ending comes short and sharp (as though the spring was unleashed and it just fell about, lifeless).
Given the short nature of these books, I do question their value compared to other Black Libray titles which can be double or more in length.
Overall, good story buildup and narration. Let down by content length and quick ending.

enjoying this epic series

this series is great. it has a wide ranging scope and cast of characters which I found daunting at first but it's coming together nicely.

Fantastic follow up to the first book

Great follow on from the first. Expands and adds much, only reason I've rated the story a 4/5 is because it's very much a set up for bigger things too come.

Can't recommend the series enough

loved this book as much as book 1.

I loved how they took back slaughter right at the end, I wonder what will happen in book 3

Good book that is slow in parts but builds well

Not as strong or compelling as the first book in the series but it has it's moments. definitely worth hanging out for the end chapters as they become quite gripping.

Yet more intriguing grimdark tales of the imperium

Expanded on the first book in the series well. Gave you a sense of magnitude of the beginning of the threat. Laced as ever with plenty of grimdark reality.
