About this listen

'Will you marry me?'

I think of you, then. I think of you every day. But usually in the quietest part of the morning, or the darkest part of the night. Not when my boyfriend of two years has just proposed.

I look up at Richard with his hopeful eyes. 'Lily?' he prompts.

It's been ten years, but it feels like only yesterday that you left. How can I say yes to Richard with all my heart when most of it has always belonged to you?

I take a deep breath and will myself to speak…

Ten years ago when Lily was just sixteen, she fell in love with someone she really shouldn't have fallen in love with. Now, living in Sydney and engaged to another man, she can't forget the one that got away. Then her past comes back to haunt her, and she has to make a decision that will break her heart - and the heart of at least one of the men who love her.

Brilliant!

Once I started listening to this book I couldn't stop. I couldn't wait to find out what happened, especially the second half of the book. I would recommend this book.
The narrator was very good too, managing the accents well.

One of my favorites

I love this so much, I've replayed it over and over. I love Paige Toon's books. But this story about a young girl Lily, and her love for a guy she met doing a summer job, Ben. Lily falls in love with Ben and carries that love into her adult years. It's a beautiful love story, with lots of animals as well. Which I love.

Great book, cringeworthy narrating!

The story was fantastic. The narrator has a lovely voice and great for a young character in the book. The narrating starts off well and then Lily meets an Australian male. The narrator does the worst MALE Australian voices and accents and I wish she would stop! She makes the main character sound any thing but gorgeous and I can't get weird images of these people out my head!
I love reading books because you imagine the people and how they sound. When you do these horrendous voices it makes them sound so bizarre! Would be much better if all read in one voice. Please stop with accents and opposite sex impersonations!!!!

VERY long and at times tedious

Let me first start by saying I have listened to what I think is almost every one of Paige’s books and have without exception enjoyed every single one of them. HOWEVER this book was - simply put tooooooo long and at times absurdly tedious in unnecessary details . To say I was surprised would be an understatement because every one of her other books have been fantastic.

The book did not pick up until the last chapter! That is a lot of book to get through before it begins to pick up! As I was listening I kept waiting (hoping?) for something to actually happen but instead it just doned on and on. It pains me to leave this kind of review however it pains me even more to sit through through 11 hours of laborious listening!

I hate to leave negative reviews and to denigrate an author’s efforts but truly this book was below par. It was full of trivial inconsequential boring detail dragging on for most of the book, the narration was grating (the male voices especially!) and the storyline was sorely lacking.

This won’t stop me from listening to more of Paige’s books but crikey I sure as hell hope they’re better than this one.

Good but not the best!

Was slightly disappointed with the story line in comparison to Paige Toons other books.

The beginning was great, the middle section was disappointing and the ending seemed inevitable. I think there couldn’t have been more suspense as in other titles.

Was nice to catch up with Lucy & Nathan, Molly & Sam again!

Loved it!

Another fabulous story by Paige Toon. The characters were brought to life by the simply fantastic narration of Jane Collingwood. A highly recommended listen!

A lovely story

A lovely story that keeps you hooked. Really nice to have the characters appear back from previous books.

Loved it!

I absolutely loved this story as I’m a hopeless romantic. The narrator is also brilliant. I’m a huge fan of Lucy in the Sky and loved hearing what they were up to.

Jane Collingwood is great at bringing PT to life!

Narrator does a fantastic job with accents and telling the story. also great to find out (SPOILER ALERT- IF YOU HAVENT ALREADY READ "LUCY IN THE SKY") how Lucy and Nathan are doing, another great by Paige Toon, although Chasing Daisy remains my favourite by her!
