Summary

Born to a life of political conflict, Perturabo was always considered a child prodigy among the people of Olympia - indeed, his philosophical and scientific works were beyond compare. But then, after his rediscovery by the Emperor and decades of thankless military campaigning on the Great Crusade, the primarch begins to resent his Legion's place in the Imperium.

When word reaches him of turmoil on his adoptive home world, he orders the Iron Warriors to abandon their campaign against the alien hrud and crush this emerging rebellion by any means necessary....

The best one yet......

Outstanding, chronicles the descent and corruption of a being that seeks nothing but competence and order....yet fails to grasp the cost. Fantastic read.

10/10

Brilliant, as you'd expect from guy haley.
fleshed out another primarch and showed the cracks that led to heresy.

Liked the origin story

Felt like this one really got into perturabos character well and I liked how it touched on his origin story unlike the others so far.

Best in the Series by far!!

I've listened to this now on multiple occasions. It gets better with every listen. The troubled character of Perturabo is so beautifully written and performed. It really brings him to life and shows why he is the way he is. I'd give it 10 stars if possible!!!

Now my fave Primarch

Brilliant book that really fleshes out Perturabos character. He has now replaced Fulgrim as my fave of the Emperors sons.

The story of the rust inside the Lord of Iron.

As someo exwho has always admired the Iron Warriors and their Primarch, this was required reading for me. This book explores the dark side of Perturabo andchisxLegion and how the seeds of their rebellion were sown.

Gripping and a pleasure

I loved this book and finished it quickly. I'm sort of sad to have finished it but happy that there is plenty of material including Perturabo and his legion and works by Guy Haley. Perturabo in this book is an amazing tragicly flawed but brilliant character. For the Emperor's scene, my heretical heart is now at dilemma and threatens to go loyalist.

Iron ego

A really interesting tale of perturabo starting his ascent to being a Primarch and at the same time laying the ground for his eventual fall to chaos, it’s all about the ego, he may be iron within but that ego is paper thin

My first audible book and im a big fan. NOT A BOT

Im starting an Iron warriors 40k army and wanted to learn more about them. I was blowed away by the book. Maybe becuase it's my first book but it gives great insight to understanding why Perturabo is the way he is and his legion. I think Guy Haley wrote the book in a very interesting way, Where chapter 1 tells you the beginning of Perturabo's life and chapter 2 is a very important event that took place some years later but really formed the legion and Perturabo the way they are now and the more you listen. The more you can piece the 2 stories/events together so it becomes coherent story.
I would say it's a great book. Not a whole lot of action but it's more about connecting with the charaters. Great narrater. He did a great job. All in all. I dont regret buying the book and i know i will listen to it again.
Sorry for the bad english and have a great day.

Much love from Denmark
