Summary
Over three seasons in England, Pep Guardiola has built something the Premier League has never seen before: a team that dominates games like no other, scoring goals and collecting points and trophies at record-breaking pace.
Throughout that journey, the Spanish journalists Lu Martín and Pol Ballús have been embedded with the club, reporting this inside account of how a phenomenal team was constructed: from the recruitment of Guardiola himself, to the backroom staff that provide the platform for his team and the superstar players that have set a new standard in British football.
No other sportswriter has had this kind of access to Guardiola and his team during their three seasons in Manchester. The result is exclusive, in-depth interviews and profiles of every key figure at City, and the inside stories on the decisions that have shaped the team, including the defensive transformation that saw Guardiola change his goalkeeper and full-backs ahead of his record-breaking 100-point season of 2017-18; the dinner date with Sergio Agüero that changed the course of the City striker's career; and close-ups on every big game in the thrilling finale to the 2018-19 title race.

Good read.
Overall an interesting book with some very good assessments and insights into Pep, the players and opponents. However, some of the game descriptors were similar to each other and predictable.

A Fascinating Inside View of Manchester City!
A well researched and narrated piece of work which gave not only a fascinating view inside the operations of one of the most important football clubs in the world, but also one for the greatest and managers in football history.
It covers all the functions of the board members and pivotal back room functions - and how they all interact to make the football club a colossal success both financially and on the pitch.
Whilst the focus is clearly upon Manchester City, it also references the ever growing number of clubs within the City Football Group, spread around the world.
You do not have to be a fan of Manchester City or an admirer of Pep Guardiola to both enjoy this listen, whilst also learn about the operations and functioning of a Premier League football club.

Wonderful insight
This is the third book on Pep that I have read and it didn't disappoint. As a Manchester City supporter who has contacts within the club (I even met Pep and the squad in late 2019) I found the behind the scenes information incredibly insightful. This brilliantly chronicles the greatest period in my club's history and I can't recommend it enough. Looking forward to a follow up book in the future.

Man City Close-up and Personal
If knowing more about the City team you watch week in week appeals to you then you’ll really enjoy this book.
If understanding how City are successful appeals to you you’ll enjoy this book.
City’s success is fairly inevitable because they leave nothing to chance.
This is a super behind the scenes page turner.

Meh
I’ve read about 5 better books on Pep. This is like a book aimed at teenage Man City fans.

Not recommended
Disjointed story telling, skipping between years. Not much insight into pep’s own words or thoughts. Wouldn’t recommend
