Blowers back again!
Having listened to squeeze the orange - Henry Blofeld’s biography I wondered if his new book would hold anything new about his like in cricket or simply be a rehash of classic but told before tales. I plumped to listen just to hear that extraordinary voice once more and was so glad I did. Not only are 5he tales told in a way only he could tell them, there were so many new or enhanced stories that I need not have worried before my purchase. Filled with fun, facts and fantastic insights into not just his own but many other colourful cricket loving characters you really feel like you have been a companion in the commentary box for the last 50 years with the great man. I cannot recommend this as a worthy successor to squeeze the orange highly enough. Buy it and you will be entertained for hours!

Expecting a red double decker
Brought back many great memories of listening to TMS over the years. Blowers voice is a joy to hear, and the anecdotes add to those memories. Radio isn't the same without hearing him.

Brilliant Blowers
A truly one of kind commentator who will never be rivalled. Had the pleasure of meeting him and seeing one of his shows a few months back. The book is just as good

Great listen
I've only got into cricket during the thrilling 2019 World Cup, but I really enjoyed these tales from Henry Blofeld, one of the greats of radio broadcasting. Hilarious and thoroughly entertaining, even for complete newcomers to the game like me. For most of us who can't afford to pay for all the sports TV and phone streaming subscriptions nowadays, Blowers and his talented TMS colleagues remind us how radio commentary can be just as exciting as watching a sporting event!

Blowers on top form
If you are a fan of Henry Blofeld, you will love this book. Written just after his retirement from BBC, it is filled with anecdotes from the legendary commentator and journalist’s career, focusing on his time with Test Match Special. Blowers’ narration is a huge bonus, featuring his impersonations of fellow commentators (extremely accurate) and his frequent laughter at his own stories. Highly recommended.
