An introduction

This book introduces a new hero; though one who finds herself in a bad situation from the very start. A Naval officer discovers that there is a new enemy when the galaxy had thought the enemy had been long destroyed. She must fight to survive after a crash then fight to get off planet before the enemy catches up with her.

The story is good even if it is short. The narration is excellent with the exception of the robot voice which could use some work.

Never stray from the path.

A female commander is sent to the outer parts of the universe to receive information vital to the peace. She must not fail.
Interesting narration by Dana Dae, with the computer AI voiced with broken individual word sentences.
This is the first part of a four part serial with variations on fables/fairy stories, short and quick to read. Curious, descriptive, but without much substance.

great for a short story

I really enjoyed this story, a scifi fusion of various grimms fairy tales. But it is quite short. However, the author does set the scene very well with an outline of the world/galaxy it is all set in and tell the story very completely. I am accustomed to much longer audiobooks, but this was fun and time to listen. Plus, the narrator, Dana Dae was fun to listen to.

Lacked personality to get excited about...

Hard to connect with as a story. Though the narration was quite skilled despite the jarring sections with the robot voice.
