About this listen
Something else has been living beneath the Earth. Now, it's their time to rule . . .
The Yellowstone supervolcano has begun to erupt, sending North America into chaos and the rest of the world into a panic. People are dangerous and desperate, knowing this will plunge the continent, and the world, into perpetual winter.
Until they realize that the eruption is the least of their worries . . .
Out of the massive chasm comes more than ash and lava. Giant monsters emerge, bent on destroying everything in sight.
Federal Marshal Lu Morgan and a ragtag group of survivors and soldiers must fight hard to stay alive and beat back the invasion of massive creatures.
It is a race against time, and a race for survival, as all involved struggle to find answers as to where the monsters came from and how to stop them.

If Roland Emmerich and Michael Bay made the most over-the-top kaiju disaster blockbuster ever.
The story is a fun and pulpy ride that feels like a big budget summer blockbuster. The characters are pretty generic and cliched, and the dialogue isn't anything to write home about, but the action is fast-paced as America finds itself with a 200 mile wide hole from which legions of collossal monster spew forth, and pockets of survivors have to find a way to escape this apocalyptic catastrophe.

Monster Mash
In a B-movie-style monster story, Jake Bible has given us the opening for what could be a delightful ride through the Kaiju world. The monsters, erupting out of the earth like a giant, flesh-and-scale volcano, don't always take centre stage as the main human cast tries their best to work through a predictable but no less enjoyable backstory. Do we care if Kyle's "father" finds him? Do we care if their secrets are revealed? Do we care if any of them meet a grisly death to one or more of the monsters? Probably not. Does it make for a more rounded novel? Maybe.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book and will look to getting the second in the series soon. If you don't want to listen to anything too taxing on the brain, and love a good monster story, you will probably lap this fella up.

It’s pretty good!
Narration is good, characters are solid and the storyline is gripping. The lore and setting is fairly unique too.

Interesting beginnings but becoming predictable
The story at the beginning of the book is quite engaging and has some sophistication. As the story progresses the characters become less believable and it makes less sense.

I thought the narrator read it like he was reading out a movie script, put me off a bit, the story was ok all in all.

meh it was ok
was ok. a but lame, but I wanted to listen to the end. It doesn't end. I think you have to pay for the next book to know what happens. I didn't like it enough to do that

Gets right on my nerves. You were taught not to do that at school.
