About this listen

After nearly eighteen months at Basgiath War College, Violet Sorrengail knows there’s no more time for lessons. No more time for uncertainty.

Because the battle has truly begun, and with enemies closing in from outside their walls and within their ranks, it’s impossible to know who to trust.

Now Violet must journey beyond the failing Aretian wards to seek allies from unfamiliar lands to stand with Navarre. The trip will test every bit of her wit, luck, and strength, but she will do anything to save what she loves—her dragons, her family, her home, and him.

Even if it means keeping a secret so big, it could destroy everything.

They need an army. They need power. They need magic. And they need the one thing only Violet can find—the truth.

But a storm is coming...and not everyone can survive its wrath.

The Empyrean series is best enjoyed in order.

Incredible

It’s hard to imagine that a series can continue to wow and enthral you like this - you can sometimes be disappointed by ‘the next book’ but oh my this is so the opposite. Laugh cry anxiety and aw it’s got it all. Incredible.

This book makes me reconsider all the 5 stars ive ever given to other books. Frankly this is incomparable. Let’s just give it six stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Absolutely INCREDIBLE.

We thought we knew which was things were going to go. I had so many predictions but I am SO glad I was wrong with most of them. Rebecca’s writing continues to be incredible and unpredictable. It’s going to take me multiple rereads to pull apart all the things which happened in this book.

Also, I’ll be sending Rebecca by therapy bill because I’m going to need it after the tears I’ve shed.

rollercoaster of a ride

This book is great.

it's not new romance love but it is developing the main characters relationship.

I love the storyline (sorry trying not to give spoilers) as it starts to bring in the reasons why certain characters in book 1 &2 were how they were and as you expect from a book in a series there is a cliff hangar!!! so many unanswered questions!

I'm upset that book 4 has no release date as yet (jan 2025), I know too early. it's too long imo. need ot today... lol.... so of to read again.

I love it but she can be so annoying!

I love this series... I do, all t

I get so irritated with Violet when she doesn't realise that her life matters for more reasons than his... it's a bit pathetic! (any chance you can write that in).

So is her inability to speak up with leadership unless she is angry or defending someone else. Plus her lack of self awareness that she is actually a leader already and could be in charge.
(boohoo mummy and daddy lied)
The ending would have been good if it had ended with him asking. She should be able to crash through his shield the same as he can. It's all defensive and only offence when she's almost dead.

please make Oric her second or advisor who will tell her to 5 children of leaders from both sides of the last war as well as her section, her team and the teachers who are actually good. plus let her second you know what have other benefits like learning languages or communication.
Maybe the Gods work through them.
Right now I like all the characters even her, but I especially love it when Violet is a baddass and vicious like she is with strangers and those she see's as peer's, let the next book be the one she realises that they have no power over her.
