Summary

When family is on the line, there’s nothing defense attorney Doug Morrison won’t do. He’ll even go to the detective who put his father away for help in proving his innocence. When the driven omega meets the strong, crafty alpha, will their passion burn too bright to keep them on the case?

Defense attorney Doug Morrison is very good at his job. After his father is convicted in a series of gruesome murders, Doug takes it upon himself to save the man who’s given him everything. When he finds evidence his father was someplace else for some of the crimes, he seeks out the detective who initially got his father convicted.

Ray Langer is a laid-back sort of alpha, but he’s very good at his job. He knows the evidence was good when it came to the Morrison case - until Morrison’s gorgeous, confident omega son shows up with evidence that chips away at his case, little by little.

Ray agrees to work with Doug to get to the bottom of the issue. When an evening of passion turns into an accidental claim, they’re left with questions and fears. Can Ray continue to investigate his mate’s father without a conflict of interest? Can Doug defend a man who his alpha arrested?

Together, they need to get to figure out not only what the claim means for them, but who committed the murders attributed to Doug’s father. Somewhere out there, someone is getting away with murder.

This stand-alone gay romance audiobook contains sexually explicit content and is not suitable for anyone under the age of 18. This audiobook has a happy ending, contains mpreg (male pregnancy), and does not end in a cliff-hanger.

Absolutely brilliant

This book was absolutely brilliant to listen to, I loved how Doug and Ray interacted with each other and the accidental claiming. Along with the twists and turns of the Doug’s dad retrial and new assailant.

The narrator was slow for me

I have listened to books by Aiden Bates before and have enjoyed them, I don't usually listen to murder stories with courtroom dramas but I did enjoy this one. Your strength of character is brilliant. This surprised me by being a great story and I'm glad it had a happy ending, keep more coming

as good as the ebook

The story is always 4 or 5 stars, because if I wouldn't like the story as ebook, I wouldn't listen to the audiobook.

The performance from the narrator is also very important for me. I can't listen to a lot, because my English as a non-native-speaker isn't so perfect to follow a whole story over hours, when the narrator speaks too fast or too sloppy. Normally I have to SEE the person, who is talking to me in English. It took me a little bit, to come into the narrator, but at the end, it worked. I only have to take a few breaks between. I'm just not yet finish with the book, but I listen enough to give a review.

PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!

To my ratings:

5* - very very good
it's like an A+

4* - very good and will be often re-listening
it's like an A

3* - it's more then a one-time-listening, but not more then twice a year.
it's like a B
