About this listen
When he was outcast, Torak was the hunted one. The following spring, he becomes the hunter when he swears to avenge the killing of one of his closest friends.
To fulfil his oath, he must brave the hidden valleys of the Deep Forest, where the clans have reverted to the savagery of an earlier time. Here, Torak finally learns why he is the Sprit Walker and discovers the true cost of revenge.

Oath Breaker
Another fantastic story, from the Chronicles of Ancient Darkness by Michelle Paver ! Ian McKellen reading as though he was there, absolutely wonderful storytelling, I would advise anyone to listen to the whole series, I’m certainly going too.

New feelings and experiences
Newer feelings are being introduced as the characters mature, and I enjoyed the story as much as the last one. I would recommend

Entertaining
This is a most entertaining audiobook, and often absolutely hilarious too. It seems like a window into more exciting and innocent times. A thoroughly joyful listening experience.

Read these when our children were little some long while ago. Back to listening to them and the stories are still so good, with awesome reading.

Fab book, fab reading, not just for kids!
I've listened to talking books all my life and this series is as good as it can get. Fast paced, terrifying, mysterious, characters with depth that you love, and a beautifully descriptive writing style that is rare these days. Paver has created a world sort of like our own pre-history, but with an added extra magic; rather like Garth Nix or JK Rowling.
What makes these listens so wonderful is the real coup of getting Ian McKellen to read them. He is a wonderful reader, and brings the books to full blooded life.
This review is for the 5th book, but could be for any of them in the series, they are all very good. Listen in order, if you can. Well worth it!
