Editor reviews

Amanda Ronconi narrates this humorous mystery with the vocal equivalent of an eye roll. While she doesn’t sound bored, she certainly sounds annoyed. But imagine her character’s predicament: She’s purchased an old crumbling Victorian on the Jersey shore, she’s fixing it up into a guesthouse, her precocious nine-year-old is hectoring, and now she finds out the Victorian is haunted!

Admittedly contrived, over-the-top, and including references that will be dated unto obscurity within the next decade or sooner, Night of the Living Deed seeks to achieve only one thing: Your temporary laughter and merriment at - or with - Ronconi’s eye-rolling voice.

An enjoyable ghostly crime investigation

Looking for a new and, let's say, enjoyable series to listen to, I stumbled across this book.
Can I say ALWAYS, read other reviews before you buy, that's why I gave this book a try and I'm so glad I did.
Ghosts, murder, intrigue and investigations all with eye rolling and disbelief, make this a good listen. Can't say anymore - I'm off to listen to the next book.

Entertaining.

Good story well written and performed. It's a light hearted listen, perfect for keeping my brain going whilst my hands are doing repetitive jobs.

Ghostly murder mystery fun

I needed something fairly cheerful to listen to and this did the job despite being a murder mystery with ghosts. It took me a bit of time to get used to the American narrator but she did a good job and it was always clear which character was speaking. The story is light and easy to follow, I enjoyed it!

Picked book because of narrator

Took a chance on this book purely because I love the narrator from her reading the great Molly Harper books. This is a warm light hearted book that doesn't test your brain. Didn't want to stop listening once I'd started the book and listened way into the wee small hours. Loved the characters and the surprises over who could see the ghosts. Funny twists and turns along the way. Can't wait to read the rest of the series. If you want an easy going fun book then this is for you.

Enjoyable 😊

I’m really enjoying listening to this series of books. Good stories, great narration. And I’m able to listen for ‘free’ on Prime. Winner 👍🏼 The author has a few different series of books and so far I’ve liked all I’ve listened to. Thank you E.J. Copperman 👏🏼

A fun, if marginally unrealistic, story

Okay so fantasy is all marginally unrealistic &, if I'm honest, this might be the most realistic of all the urban fantasy, female investigator type novels in that the lead is not some super kick-ass woman who only wears black & has a wicked sharp wit. She is instead a normal lady who, after a bump on the head, is confronted with the ghostly inhabitants of her new home & ends up doing the leg work in investigating their death (one of the ghosts is a private investigator who does all the real work).
Over all nice characters although I hope the writing style improves a little in future books ^^
