Summary

'Life ain't always sunshine and flowers... I'm learning how to my own s--t and refusing to let it own me. I hope this book will help you do the same.'

Behind the humour, swearing, dogs and nonsense,  Never Enough is a no-holds-barred account of life through Pete Wicks' lens. He shares his mental health trials and approach to life - starting with his journey as a 16-year-old who had the words 'NEVER ENOUGH' tattooed across his body, a marker of a time of anger and sadness, but also of his struggles with self-worth.

Still very much a work-in-progress, Pete reveals the lessons he has learned: the good, the bad and the ugly. He calls time on toxic positivity, the damaging impact of social media, the pressures of masculinity and our desire to remain relevant - opening up about grief, love and friendship along the way.

This is Pete Wicks as you've never seen him before . . . off-camera, raw, honest, unfiltered and without the bravado.

The best self-help book ( that is not a self-help book) ever

I ordered this to learn more about Pete,I got that and so much more. Your Nan and Mum did a great job. Yes I laughed and cried, but also did a lot of self-reflection. Your advice to give yourself the same advice as you would others ( far better articulated than that ) makes so much sense. The candid but sensitive way you deal with mental health issues resonates so much , a lot of us out there have learnt that the hard way. I love the way you talk about Sam, you are both huge advocates for the neurodiverse community. 62 year old Granny here, not your usual demographic 😀. Keep doing what you ate doing. Can't recommend enough.

Wisdom, humour and humility

A book that speaks from the heart and strikes a cord. Pete wicks narrates his experience like that buddy you need to hear from to say, you’re ok even when you’ve got no clue. Sounds a simple message but it’s a very relevant and needed perspective on how to navigate your life in this modern life, often self judgment born out of comparison of unrealistic or filtered social media. Pete reminds us all to be our own compass in navigating our emotions in life and has the ability to communicate like that guy you feel you could chew the cud on life with sharing a train journey with and despite the last ten years of fame, appears incredibly grounded and humble, in part due to the strong female figures in his life. An enjoyable listen and insight into an individual who is so much deeper than his looks but like a wise old sensitive soul. We could all use a friend like Pete.

Why am I Surprised?

Well! I listen to and watch Staying Relevant. The relationship between Pete and Sam is powerful and lovely. This book is just beautiful. Pete narrates with such passion and compassion. There are many heartbreaking revelations that are difficult to listen to. Pete Wicks has opened some very raw wounds but this will help many people I think. For what it’s worth, I reckon Pete is a wonderful, warm, generous, kind and intelligent man. Good luck!

Wow what a beautifully written book Pete. Your message throughout is so powerful. I laughed, cried and reflected on my own struggles in navigating my life after loss. Thank you for allowing people to feel a sense of unity in grief.
