About this listen

After the horrors of Istvaan V, Horus declares outright war against the Imperium. In the shadows of the Emperor's Palace, powerful figures convene.

Their plan is to send a team of assassins to execute the arch-traitor Horus and end the war for the galaxy of mankind before it's even begun. But what they cannot know is that another assassin is abroad already, with his sights firmly set on killing the Emperor.

Heresy in safe hands

This book continues the breath taking Horus Heresy and doesn't disappoint. The view of opposition to Horus makes you question who is the enemy... as with all things its a matter of perspective... some nicely handled story threads you through to an exciting last few chapters.

Horus Heresy at its best

Assassin group hunting Horus and a monster made to hunt the Emperor makes for an interesting power struggle between the two leaders.

slow and dull..

i have been listening to all w40k books in order and this is the dullest so far... the story doesnt know if its a cop story or a "heist" story and then merges these two stories into the slowest and unintriguing story ive read so far.

A great plot

Loved delving into the secrecy of the assasinorum. Also anything involving Malcador and Valdor is a win for me :)

JUST EXCEPTIONAL!!!

I know people are gonna read the blurb and think badly of the audio because it isn't expressly on the Primarchs and Astartes... but it's these side books that add colour and depth to the Heresy... where a five minute jump to a secret conversation adds a whole dimension to the unravelling of events... and we are now starting to see and hear about the changes in Horus and his Legion...

And then there is the Narrator, J-wow Keeble!!! This guy is so good I almost want to immediately re-listen to the book, buuuuut I'm so amped I now need to go on to the next!!! If you take one thing away from this, listen to it for the Keebster!!!

People like him and the others I've written reviews on really bring the Warhammer universe to life and Emperor be praised... Go team go!!!

Now back to my crusade to listen to em all!!! Next stop: Lorgar...
