A great gift
Although I personally don't consider myself to be a mess maker, I found this audiobook to be incredibly insightful and valuable. The book not only provided me with a deeper understanding of those who struggle with creating clutter and disorganization, but also gave me valuable tools for helping loved ones who do.
The author's approach is compassionate and non-judgmental, which is essential when it comes to discussing what can be a sensitive and difficult topic for some. By breaking down the root causes of messiness and presenting practical solutions for addressing them, this audiobook serves as an excellent resource for both mess makers and those who want to support them.
I believe that it is essential for us to understand how those who struggle with messiness think, as it can help us be more compassionate and supportive in our interactions with them. This book would make an excellent gift for anyone who struggles with clutter and disorganization, or for anyone who loves and cares for someone who does.

Get Neat Fun and Fast
I bought this book initially because of its really cool cover. The book grabbed me instantly as soon as I started listening and I found myself laughing at times so it has a comedic twist for a topic that frustrates many. It's one of the first audiobooks I have listened to where the author has actually had the guts to do the narration herself and what a stellar job she has done. Her voice is both captivating and relaxed and really builds a sense of trust and it makes you feel like she really knows what she is talking about, I will definitely be applying some of these lessons to my pigsty of a life. I love how the author draws analogies between rabbits and messy people as that was very thought provoking for me. I have even taken a mantra from this book "being neat frees you from judgement" lol as that is so true. I instantly feel better with a tidy home. In summary it's packed with good information but it is the narration that is the big winner in this book. A great listen if your a messy person and could do with a few lessons on being neat

For a clean and organized home
I've always seen those Pinterest-worthy houses and figured no one would have a house that clean and beautiful if they had kids. I still think that, but thanks to this book, I'm convinced that you can at least have a clean and organized home, and that's half what constitutes beauty. Each of the ten steps are practical and that they are told by a mess maker is probably the reason they are so refreshing to engage with.

In the end, I took away more than cleaning tips, but rather a whole new framework to declutter my life and my head. This is a different approach to building positive lifestyle habits, an easy listen that I truly enjoyed.

Insightful and fastidious audiobook
This audiobook carries insights that even the cleanest and house proud person can learn and implement in their day-to-day life. Honest and down-to-earth examples of where you are potentially tripping up in your day-to-day life. Packed with practical techniques and practices which can help you avoid these small mistakes you make on a daily basis and also how best to prevent repeating or slipping back into old habits.
As someone who has a full-time job coupled with a busy side hustle with the extra cherry on top of a messy housemate. This audiobook was a delight to listen to and I picked up several valuable gems to implement myself and to politely suggest to my housemate so that we both benefit from a cleaner house and ultimately less stress altogether.

Today I Start Becoming Neat!
By the end of chapter 1 of this book, I started wondering whether the author had been talking to my family and friends or had set up a surveillance camera in my disorganized bedroom. How else could she have described my messy habits to a T? She seemed to know not only exactly how my particular clutter style looks, but my mental perspective on that clutter and the way I deal with it (or procrastinate).
But unlike most neat people, the author didn’t criticize my messiness or make me feel like “a bad guy”. Instead, she draws the conclusion that messy people actually have incredible superpowers! And we can stop being the “villains” of our messy homes and become the incredible champions who bring order out of chaos. Talk about inspiring! I loved the fun, fantasy-like perspective on a very real issue faced by so many of us. While I tend to be so laser-focused on “the more important things of life” that I like to think that mess doesn’t stress me, deep down I know that it does slow down the daily routine and that there is a buildup of underlying, quiet stress, even if ignored.
I started listening to this book with a rather vague and non committal idea that it would be nice to have a neater living space. But with all of life’s other demands and responsibilities, it didn’t really seem urgent or deserving of laser focus. Neat: 10 Easy Steps to Change Your Life, Reduce Stress and Finally Get Rid of the Mess challenged me to change my mindset and give neatness a try. Besides the practical, hands-on action steps this book provides, it helped change my mindset.
As the author pointed out, why not give neatness a try for 30 days? If I don’t, how do I know that messiness is my preferred style? Using the 10 easy steps for this book, neatness is definitely possible. And since “done is better than perfect”, this is a situation to ignore those perfectionistic tendencies and just start doing something to work towards neatness today. One step at a time!
Purchase of the audiobook includes a free PDF of checklists to help get started with an organization plan.
This book is humorous, practical, and motivational! If you would like to be neat but have felt like it was impossible or just not worth the effort, listen to this book! It will definitely make you laugh and change your mindset, and could be your first step toward becoming the hero of your soon-to-be-neat home!

Highly motivational!
With appropriately high and positive energy, Heather E. Carson gives us a practical framework to understand the techniques of being a Neat Ninja. With habit stacking, routine building and trouble-shooting techniques, Carson gives us the permission and playful kick in the pants to get moving and declutter and tidy up our homes so that we can begin to enjoy the immense benefits of a simplified and organized space. The attached PDF checklists are a valuable resource for managing everything without getting overwhelmed. Excellently written and narrated, I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants a step-by-step approach to the transformation of their space for the long term.
