Summary
Ryder
It's a cliche really, falling in love with my best friend, my very straight best friend. And to add more complications, I'm a football player, about to be drafted. We're manly men. We aren't supposed to be gay. But I am and I love the one person I'll never have. Until fate forces us together six years later. It'll be both a fantasy and hell on earth, playing along Crush - the only man who will ever truly own my heart.
Crush
He dropped a bomb on me. Then he left, never looking back. Our friendship - ruined until he lands back in my life. His presence is just as big as ever. I never forgot him, or what that one kiss so many years ago still does to my body. He's here, but is he willing to stay?
Contains mature themes.

I’ve listened to this narration duo a few times, I really liked them. Even if I'm not a fan of most southern US accents.
The story was good. Two guys who were besties in college go years without speaking, because feeling were caught but life happened. When they end up on the same team years later everything comes bubbling back to the surface. Toss in a manipulative ex and you have some medium level drama that makes for a great easy read.
Be warned for those keen or less keen there is 🍦🥧 👅 (or...🍦🍑😋?)
It feels so cliché to hate kids in books. But I feel like authors who seem to have never met a child, write child side characters. They come across as OTT and seldomly the age the character is meant to be.

predictable but enjoyable
it was a good story and quite enjoyable but it was nothing I hadn't read before. one of the performers made some weird pronunciation choices and his voice was a little stilted.

Good listen
A mix of subplots and some small time jumps included in this somewhat predictable but still enjoyable listen. I agree that one of the narrators is slightly stilted but I was able to ignore that.
SPOILER (ish)
If you want a happy ending then listen to the first epilogue only...not the bonus second one (not related to the main couple)

Easy story
Loved the book. A great easy listen made better by it being read by two of my favourite narrators.
A heartwarming romance with more than a bit of hotness thrown in!!!
It never ceases to amaze me how talented narrators can be with such a wide variation of voices.....the children in this story were portrayed in the cutest way!!! A lovely book
