Summary
A deliciously sexy fake marriage romance performed by a full cast, led by Shane East and Vanessa Edwin, and including Erin Mallon, Joe Arden, Victoria Mei, Siiri Scott, and James Joseph!
A weeklong trip. A fake marriage. And seven delicious nights with only one bed in the hotel room.
He's my business partner, my good friend, and the man I've craved for years.
But I've resisted the sexy Brit, and I plan to keep up my walls because I've been there, done that, and I know how much it hurts when you let someone into your heart.
Then an opportunity comes along for us to snag the business deal of a lifetime.
The catch?
We need to pretend we're married to pull off this high-stakes deal.
So the clever, charming man with secrets a mile deep becomes my temporary husband as we travel around Europe. Soon, we fall into bed, tangled together like newlyweds who can't keep their hands off each other.
One week to explore our fantasies, then we return to who we were.
But when I learn the dark secrets he's been keeping, I doubt we can go back.
Because they change everything.
This exclusive full-cast production also includes the debut of The Rules of Friends with Benefits, a brand new prequel novella!

As hot as the cover model!
A scorchingly good listen as Daniel & Scarlett take a trip around France visiting hotels whilst pretending to be on honeymoon.
Banter, passion and fun from two characters who have worked together for years and never crossed a line until now.
Lauren at her best.
The narration was flawless as I always come to expect from Lauren Blakely, she handpicks her voice actors to suit the characters and this was a pure joy to listen to.

One for the high heat & insta-love fans
3.5 stars
I was a little torn on how to rate this book. It's performed by some favourites, and the premise had my attention. Business partners that pretend to be married for a week? Sign me up! But the story just didn't hit all my favourite spots. Maybe I wasn't in the right headspace for it or maybe because I expected something different?
I thought this book was going to be more like Lauren's romcoms than her After Dark series based on the cover and branding, but it felt much more like an After Dark book. The characters had been introduced in the series which adds to the feel, I think. And the focus was very much on the sexual journey of this couple than their relationship. Now, I'm not saying that's a bad thing, but I just didn't expect it and felt the book left me wanting. Wanting more of them building their relationship—it felt like they went from business partners/ friends to f* buddies to being in love with very little buildup in between. Wanting more humour—like I say, I thought this was going to be more on the romcom side of things and it ended up dealing with some pretty serious issues.
That being said, it was an enjoyable listen with interesting characters. A fun premise. And I loved that they were traveling around and getting to visit all these places with them.
If high heat, insta-love is your thing, you should most definitely pick this book up as I think you will love it.
It's performed by Vanessa Edwin and Shane East (with a few other voices thrown in here and there - it's a multicast) and I thought they did an amazing job with it. Vanessa is all the things. I love her voice and was so excited that she was the heroine in this story. She brought so much to Scarlett and her experiences. Shane is obviously the go-to British male voice, and for good reason, he was wonderful as Daniel and really brought a lot of emotion to the things the character had experienced in his past.
At the end of the audiobook was a novella prequel to Lauren's next book. That was performed by Erin Mallon and Teddy Hamilton. I enjoyed listening to it, a football team owner and a baseball player - sounds like fun, right? I look forward to finding out how their story unfolds.

A wonderful break from reality
Lauren Blakely is the Queen of feel good, entertaining romance, and My One Week Husband is just that. Highly entertaining friends to lovers fake marriage, it also happens to be one of my favourite tropes. Business partners Daniel and Scarlett go on a week long business trip scoping out hotels, and what better way to go under cover than as a married couple. They both know exactly what they’re getting into, eyes wide open and all that, and they enjoy every sexual fantasy they’ve imagined together. Secrets are shared, hurts and fears relived and chances taken in this sexy, fun and flirty read. The chemistry between Danielle and Scarlet is off the charts and is really brought to life in the audio version with narration from Jason Clarke and Vanessa Edwin, and as an added bonus there are a few cameos from some of my favourite narrators. A wonderful break from reality, I loved it.
The Virgin Rule Book prequel was added on to the end as a teaser, with Teddy Hamilton and Erin Mallon narrating (yay), and let me tell you. I can’t wait.

Disappointing...
I may be in a distinct minority here when it comes to the reviews, but I'm sorry I found absolutely nothing remarkable about this book other than the narrators!
Don't get me wrong I love Lauren Blakely's books that's why I pre-ordered this, then spent most of the book waiting for something notable to actually happen.... and it never did!
