Summary
When my husband’s mistress was found brutally murdered, I was the one imprisoned for the crime.
I was willing to do whatever it took to prove my innocence. When Dr. Evelyn Powell showed up on visiting day, I was shocked to learn she was my husband’s new fiancé. I befriended her in hopes of finding answers to my questions.
Was my husband behind the brutal slaying? If I wanted to regain my freedom, I had to figure out a way to convince Evelyn to betray the man she loved and search for the evidence that would prove my innocence. After all, if I was right about my husband, she could be his next victim.
A psychological thriller with a twist you’ll have to listen to, to believe.

Suspenseful and completely captivating
Wow I didn't expect to love this book as much as I did. I was also convinced I knew exactly what happened, who did it, and all the details but boy was I surprised.
Liz goes to jail for murdering her husband's pregnant mistress, but the shock and deceit doesn't end there. The surprise when her husband's new fiancée comes to visit.. the fact that she is willing to hear her out.. then there is the fact that Liz was willing to even talk to her in the first place.. I was addicted to this book. I couldn't stop. I listened straight through in one sitting and I am anxiously awaiting the next one in this series! Thank you Wendy Owens for such an amazing story. I can't wait to see where you take it from here.
I loved Whitney Dykhouse. She did amazing on this book. She brought out the emotions and pain beautifully!

Who Killed Nathan's Mistress?
This book is by a new author to me but it's an author I will look out for in future, this book is about Liz, convicted of killing Alyson, her husband's mistress. Liz and Nathan had been married for ten years but the last few weren't happy, they lost their child and Liz became distant, so was Nathan being unfaithful her fault? Liz learned of the affair before Nathan admitted it to her, she planned to kill her but never did anything about it. She learned that Alyson was pregnant, something never disclosed in the press and she put cameras in Alyson's home so when the police found them and turned up at her home to arrest her she appeared to have no defence. But Liz always claims to be innocent, so who really killed Alyson, was it, Nathan, Liz or someone else we have yet to learn about.
Whilst serving her life sentence and waiting for her appeal to be heard she receives a visit from Evelyn who she thinks is part of her defence team but Evelyn tells her that she's her husband’s fiancée. Evelyn asks Liz to sign divorce papers but after chatting for some time Liz thinks that Evelyn may be able to help prove her innocence. Can she convince Evelyn that she's innocent will she believe Liz? Can Liz make her see the truth about Nathan? Would Evelyn betray the man she loves to help her?
The story is fast-flowing, well-written and quite gripping with so many layers listening was like peeling back the layers of an onion, it's intriguing and thrilling full of drama, mystery and suspense. I found myself spinning and on the edge of my seat trying to decide if the clues being given were real or just red herrings? I don't want to give any spoilers but none of the characters is who or what they seem. The last few chapters were intense leading to an ending that left me reeling!
The narration of this book by Whitney Dykhouse is very well done, I've never listened to her before but will certainly listen to her again.
I was given this audiobook as a gift and am voluntarily writing my review

Mindblowing!
I love a book that makes you think, and this whodunnit had me guessing until the end! Liz is in jail for the murder of her husband's girlfriend, Alison. The problem is she didn't do it! Nathan has moved on though, and his new fiancé has come to the jail to visit Liz. Evelyn is a psychologist, and me Nathan in grief counseling. Now Liz is trying to explain to her that Nathan has framed her, and she should watch out for her own safety. Will she be able to convince Evelyn of the truth? Wendy Owens takes on so many twists and turns, I kept changing my mind on what really happened to Alison. Did Nathan kill her? Was Liz the mastermind behind the plan? Was Liz remembering her past correctly? So many things were going on, and so many different possibilities were offered that when the truth was revealed, I was shocked! This is the best kind of thriller. Suspenseful, kept me on the edge and the ending left open for the next book! I can't wait!
To make this story seem so real needs a storyteller that understands suspense. Whitney Dykhouse does, and what a story she tells! Her voices are perfectly suited to each character, she raises sense of doubt with the inflections she uses, and she brings the entire story to life. I loved her narration; it was a perfect cast.
