Marian’s voice Made it authentic.

I sometimes lost the thread. So many characters. Lol. My fault - I often left it too long between listenings.

Good Irish story telling

Loved the writers story telling. Did not like the repetitive names of the family in the story line.

Unexpected delight!

This is the first book by Marian Keyes that I have listened to and it was an unexpected delight.
I was looking for something lighter after some depressing books and this fitted the bill. Not my usual genre, but this hooked me from the start, with some laugh out loud moments. Loved the narration by the author, the Irishness just seeping through. I had no idea she has written so many books. Will be sure to check the others out.

Anna…

I had to go back and listen to the first book… I love rediscovering all the other characters and the “Real Men”. A good twist.
As always, Mama Welsh is the best…
I hope Helen is next.
Really enjoyed to have the book read by Marian.

The most relatable narrator ever

I loved this audio book. Marian is such a relatable human being. She writes real characters in believable situations and gave voice to them in this audio book. Thoroughly recommend cosy read.

A life at a junction. A story strongly told!!

I love Marion’s story telling capabilities!! Such a good “exposée“ of a life fully and complicatedly lived! I loved the way the story unravels the complexity of our behaviour in beloved relationships. How our world view is not necessarily how others see it. Utterly brilliant. I shall listen many times more.

some funny bits but not as deep as her other books

I like the Walsh family and the other bikes have been very funny yet surprisingly deep and interesting as well, touching on difficult topics. this one is a bit boring in parts, and predictable.
