Great insight into the industry
Really great stories from some of the legends of special effects! Handy for me as I’m starting to dabble in them myself of late!

A must for film fans. Fascinating
A fascinating and entertaining series of conversations with some of the best and most inventive make up and special effects people in Cinema in the last 60 odd years. Listening to them describe how they got into the industry, their relationships with their peers and their heroes. The films they worked on, all of my favourite classic and cult Science fiction and horror films. Heather Wixson is produced a well constructed book that tells the story of some of in my opinion the sometimes really overlooked part of a film. You see the monster or the scar but never think how much work and time goes to make an effect that may only last seconds. It is all so wonderfully entertaining for any reader but if like me you are a film fan it is a must read. The audio book is excellent Wesley Scott does a fine job making the book a pleasure to listen too. I received a complimentary copy from the narrator and am leaving a honest voluntary review.
