Summary
Five days after Owen Zastava Pitt pushed his insufferable boss out of a 14th story window, he woke up in the hospital with a scarred face, an unbelievable memory, and a job offer.
It turns out that monsters are real. All the things from myth, legend, and B-movies are out there, waiting in the shadows. Officially secret, some of them are evil, and some are just hungry. On the other side are the people who kill monsters for a living. Monster Hunter International is the premier eradication company in the business. And now Owen is their newest recruit.
It's actually a pretty sweet gig, except for one little problem. An ancient entity known as the Cursed One has returned to settle a centuries-old vendetta. Should the Cursed One succeed, it means the end of the world, and MHI is the only thing standing in his way.
With the clock ticking towards Armageddon, Owen finds himself trapped between legions of undead minions, belligerent federal agents, a cryptic ghost who has taken up residence inside his head, and the cursed family of the woman he loves. Business is good.... Welcome to Monster Hunter International.

Simple entertainment
My only real issue is with the pronunciation of a couple of words that the narrator had obviously never used before.

I like the main character and the villain was gpod, but I found myself not feeling for any other characters.
saying that I'm going to buy and listen to the next book as I still enjoyed it

Excellent Monster Book
Any additional comments?
I don't read this style of book but it was defiantly, enjoyable. It has opened me to a new author. Strong characters, interesting story lines and robust fight scenes - I enjoyed the training scenes and the individual character development.

OK story but lacked finesse
This story was OK but seemed a little obvious at times. there weren't any clever plot twists or devices that make the listener sit up and take note.
performance was good but a lot of characters sounded the same.
all in all 6 out of 10 - worth it if you like the monster genre but not the best introduction

Excellent
Loved it, a bit different from all of the other books in the genre. Very good narration, will be straight onto the next one in the series.

Difficult to review meaningfully -
I was initially very disappointed. My fault - for no good reason I was expecting something more Harry Dresden series type witty urban fantasy noir etc.
What this is is an unsubtle romp written by a gun enthusiast.
It's genuinely exciting with some enjoyable minor twists. One does start eventually to care for many of they characters, even if the hero seems a bit dim to have been a successful accountant, but overall its Rednecks do Buffy the Vampire Slayer crossed with the A-team crossed with a touch of the X-files.
Treat it like an antidote to typical Booker short list type books. On the whole fun, decent narration, and will help a boring journey fly by.

Love it
Good action packed monster killing fun! Gore, guns n girls. Not a master piece but a fun ride with bad arse bad guys and heroes battling against the odds. Well read and the pace was perfect. Now need to listen to the rest.

Great books!
I've listened to several of the Monster Hunter, Inc., books - several times - and I love them. I hope a new one comes out soon.
