About this listen
Molly and Omari Learn Yoga is the first in a series of 12 books that teach children skills that they may not learn in school, while simultaneously empowering and entertaining them, contributing to their love of reading and learning.
In Molly and Omari Learn Yoga, culturally diverse best friends Molly and Omari happen to sit under a very unusual tree named Wanda the Wise Willow, who listens to their problems and teaches them yoga poses that work wonderfully to both calm and energize them.
The two besties try out their new skills down by the creek skipping rocks and at the County Fair, getting empowering results that can easily translate into many other areas of their lives!
Bonus: The last chapter in Molly and Omari Learn Yoga speaks to the listener directly, encouraging them by stating how many words and chapters they just heard, thereby increasing metacognition, boosting their confidence, and contributing to their social and emotional well-being.
Recommended by teachers for teaching SEL (social-emotional learning), skills for coping with anxiety, socialization, behavior management, getting along with others, sharing, cooperative learning, and problem-solving.
Realistic Fiction. Grade Levels: 1-3. Fountas and Pinnell Reading Levels L-N.

Calm, happy children
This great book by Patricia Brogdon works so well as an audible book for children and those who look after them. The voices of the characters are easy to recognise and the whole story of Molly and Omari is so engaging. As an adult I found myself trying the yoga positions as I listened and smiling and laughing along with the story. As an educationalist I would highly recommend this book for children, teachers and parents/carers. Never before has our children's mental health and well-being been at such a critical stage and books like this are a welcome and much needed addition in the tool box of life skills. I look forward to listening to more of the wonderful Molly and Omari series. A first class series putting children's well being at the forefront.

Magical Book!
What a great book! My daughter and I loved this book, which is about a boy called Omari and a girl called Molly who learn how to do yoga after talking to a tree called Wanda.
Wanda teaches them how yoga is about calming the body and the mind, to be in harmony with yourself and the environment.
My daughter enjoyed trying out the different yoga poses, such as downward dog pose, camel pose, half tortoise pose, happy baby pose and tree pose. She was also interested in the breathing exercises, learning how trees breathe and she enjoyed learning the different hand mudras.
The audiobook narrator was wonderful and she had a really lovely voice.
This is a magical book, which is excellent and highly recommended.
