A mixed bag or poor writing but great story.

Disclaimer: I was provided a copy of this book free of charge in exchange for an honest review.

I admit, right off the bat, that this is a touch book to review. My reason is that I feel the writing is insufficient for the story and the story likewise insufficient for the narration. Let me explain..

So we have twin brothers who play a 'harnless prank' that regrettably ends in the death of one of them and this leads the surviving brother to doubt his own sanity and become embroiled in a criminal incident.

The plot points are great, from the initial accident, the moments of fear and confusion through to understanding, revelations and resolution but the way it is written is often really, really poor. By this I mean there are moments where characters act in a manner, or have thought, totally nonsensical for their age.

There are also moments of such boring banality where I was left wondering if the book had an editor as huge section could easily have been dropped to streamline the story and make it flow so much better but the CORE of the story, the actual TALE it is telling is really good and I'd love to see a redites version of this story released.

And it is these problems that make the 3rd part, the narration, so hard to review. Chris, the narrator, is excellent. His expression, delivery and vocal work are all extremely good and I never once felt taken out of the tale as a result, but I really felt he had little to work with and this was not a good expression of his obvious ability. I suppose the best reviews I can give is that, if not for his excellent narration, I would never have been able to finish this story.

So I would say that, if you can me tally fill in the blanks and forgive the poor writing, the story here is great and it is an enjoyable read, more for the narrator than the book itself.

Great!

This is the second in the Identity series and is just as good if not better than the first. Mark and Thomas plan a prank that goes dreadfully wrong and results in Thomas losing his life, but he comes back as a ghost to "help" Mark and Thomas's girlfriend. It is funny in parts and entertaining throughout. A highly recommended listen. Chris Koprowski's narration is excellent once again and really brings the book to life. No hesitation in giving 5 stars.
I was kindly given a copy of the book by the narrator and leave this honest review voluntarily. *****

brilliant

I loved the narration of Chris Koprowski, he bought the characters to life, action, humour and suspense.

Mark loses his twin brother Thomas, when a prank goes wrong. After losing him, Mark learns Thomas has a secret. Bad people are after Mark believing he is Thomas. With the help of ghost of his brother, he could be in more trouble. Who still likes a prank.
