Summary
The third volume in the best-selling Wideacre trilogy. Set in the 18th century, they launched the career of Philippa Gregory, the best-selling author of The Other Boleyn Girl and Three Sisters, Three Queens.
Meridon, a desolate Romany girl, is determined to escape the hard poverty of her childhood. Riding bareback in a travelling show while her sister, Dandy, risks her life on the trapeze, Meridon dedicates herself to freeing them both from danger and want.
But Dandy, beautiful, impatient, thieving Dandy, grabs too much too quickly. And Meridon finds herself alone, riding in bitter grief through the rich Sussex farmlands towards a house called Wideacre - which awaits the return of the last of the Laceys.

A good end to a twisted saga
I was unsure whether to listen to Meridon as I had read very mixed reviews about it. but I am very pleased I did. Yes the narration is different to that in The Favoured Child but I found these characters a lot more realistic. In the Favoured Child a number of the characters had hopes and didn't speak up to injustices while in Meridon I found Sarah and Will to be much more believable and they fight for what is theirs right to the end. A book which is very much worth a listen and very enjoyable!

A great story
I loved this audiobook it was a great story and I really liked the character of Meridon I so wanted it to end well for her. It was interesting and really just a great story.

Brilliant!
Brilliant from start to finish, with exceptional narration, highly recommended. 3rd in a series but read 1st, going to download the other 2 books now 😊

Enjoyed the entire series
All 3 of these books have lead me into wanting to listen to the next from one of my favourite authors. Meriden is a heart warming and magical tale. Would be nice to have future books in this series.
