Summary
He taught me to kill. Murder is in my blood now. It runs through my veins and though I hide the monster I see in the mirror with ink, it doesn't keep him from coming out.
My street name is Mercy, but I never show any. Except for her. I watch Becca, though she doesn't know. She saved me a long time ago; the day my father killed my mother. Her bravery turned her into a target.
My father holds a grudge and knife with the same proficiency, and Becca is the focus of his hatred. And I'm the only monster who can save her.

This book, well, let's just say that 'Mercy' doesn't show any to anyone except his chosen few! He was the boogieman to all. Even mafia enforcers are scared of him.😲 His face is tattooed with a full faced skull. Not everyone knows it's actually a full body skeleton tattoo, except for his 'delicate areas', they're tattoo free.😉
He was dragged up until age 13, knowing nothing but neglect and pain. He witnessed his Dad physically abuse his mum until she was no-more, at his Dads hands!😡💔 That same day, a miracle saved him - Rebecca Dixie Stokes told his Dad off in the shop for being mean to his son. She was a kid herself, but she didn't know to fear him. Fenix years later, with the courage he borrowed from Becca, morphed into Mercy!
He's a self taught computer whiz, who as an adult, watches out for the little girl who saved him, and his little sister Ember, who's only seen him once and probably doesn't even know who he is.😢 So when moves are made against Becca, he needs to protect her, find out who's behind it, and deal with them. Has the 'ghost of vilest past' returned!💥
This book is so well written. I devoured it in one sitting. The only reason I'm 'not' giving it 5 stars is because of what happened during 'that' year, the one afterwards! I was really disheartened by that bit. I loved its final outcome, but I felt that should've happened a year before, when he was still 'that Mercy'!😔 I know it shouldn't bother me, but it did.🤷
I think Mercy's best friend, Animal, is the next MMC in this series, I'm here for it.😍
🍸🍾
The audiobook is excellent. Both vocal artists do the characters' justice!🎧⭐️

Gotta Love Mercy
This audiobook was addictive, I wish life didn't get in the way or otherwise I would of listened to it in one sitting. ;) .
I loved the chemistry between Nix and Becca, they were really hot together. I can't wait for Animal's story (Havoc), which is released in April, he was a great secondary character which just added so much to the story of Nix.
Muffy Newtown & Zachary Webber were brilliant at narrating this and added so much depth to the characters.

OH MY, MERCY ME!!
What a beautiful story, I had no idea this was going to be such a well written book. I loved the characters, Pheonix and Becca. This audiobook story is full of love, heat, angst and pure hatred. I love the way that they come together, very well thought out, a terrific listen. The narration was faultless and I love the tone of Zachary Webber's voice he's definitely a favourite. Well done, well worth the money 🥰🥰

Amazing
This is one of the best audiobooks I have listened to this year. I just loved Becca and Nix’s journey and I’m glad they get their HEA. I can’t wait to listen to Animals book.

Brilliant.
Written with her characteristic skill for combining the harsh with the beautiful, Mercy is a story which will stay in your head for a long time. I read the book a few years ago, and, now, the audio has kept me riveted. The book itself is first class, and the narrators, Zachary Webber and Muffy Newton, are their exceptional selves in brining the text to life and drawing us into the lives around which it revolves. Each character is important, and these two voice actors bring all the intensity, the heart and the insane chemistry, to vivid life. 💖💖💖💖💖

Holy Moly Zachary smashes this one.
This is my first Debra book and most definitely won’t be my last. I absolutely loved this story and her writing.
Yes, this is a long book, but it is all completely necessary to bring us to Becca and Nix’s HEA. This story is tragic, with a past that connected these two Nix kept that invisible bond for years without Becca knowing. With the encouragement of Animal, his best mate, who by the way is a freakin’ fantastic side character, Nix meets his girl IRL. Their attraction is instant and sizzling, and we are treated to some delicious, frantic spice. With a shed load of action, this is a fast-paced book which is no easy feat when it’s so long. I loved Debra’s writing. She has this amazing ability to pop the lightest of lines in the heaviest of situations. There is a little humour but so many feelings. I was loving being deep in my feels with this one. And the love between Nix and Animal is more than a bromance, it’s family.
Muffy did a great job of showing Becca’s vulnerability. We see when she turns from infatuated to super scared to in love. Muffy takes us on this journey and you can’t help but get inside Becca’s head. Ugh, Zachary obliterated me with his portrayal of Nix. He made me believe in the scared boy, the vengeful man, the obsessed watcher, the passionate lover, and the heartfelt partner. He showed me all the sides of Nix.
This is a fantastic audiobook that you just need to experience.
