In 1957, four years before his death, Carl Gustav Jung, psychiatrist and psychologist, began writing his life story. Superb
I've been utterly transfixed by this recording, listening over weeks as the leaves in Hampstead Heath changed colour. Bravo Ukemi for bringing Jung to life.

A thoroughly personal experience
My first Audible experience.
The contents are amazing, it felt like actually going through the life of Jung. It shares some profound insights on his own psyche and clears up a lot of questions I had of my own psyche and illumanites some of his other written works through this.
Personally unsure about the performance as this is my first listening experience, at the beginning it felt a bit off and was harder to get into however that quickly changed and I was able to listen to it without care. I would like to also add that the voice sounds quite stoic, whatever that would mean in this context, and it felt fitting to the read text.

A visionary who was occasionally hard to follow
Parts of this are quite mind blowing. Sometimes the references are hard to follow and packed with detail.
The childhood visions, and his breakdown show a remarkable bravery and intellect. Some of the descriptions of African and Indian travel may sound quite paternalistic now, but his general outlook embodied an open mind and desire to understand the consciousness of all.

Important
One of the greatest pieces of writing in the history of western culture. It comes from the meeting of the great ocean of the European collective unconscious and the genius of the individual C. J. Jung. There is here told the story of a man, but also a truth universal in its depth, but these are not mutually exclusive.
