Fantastic.

As a foster carer myself I’m always very sceptical about these sort of memoirs especially from another 2 well known “foster carers” (CG & MH) as they’re usually so sickly sweet and so far out from reality I spend most of the time laughing or rolling my eyes.
This one was different, the author doesn’t portray herself or her family as saviours and saints, you get a sense of the frustration, hurt and anger that comes with fostering.
I especially liked the beginning of the book as it gives insight into very the start of the child’s life story.
Very well performed too.
Looking forward to reading her next one.

Another view into what's right and what's wrong in this crazy world.

I disagree, Louise...you don't just need to be respected....you SHOULD be financially compensated. not put in debt. I was watching a show where a huge project was going on to provide vacation homes for the richest of the rich....3.5 million dollar vacation homes for a multitude of people.....billionaires whodemand the best. I wanted to scream...well, actually I did. could they not all settle on 1.5 million dollar homes and feed back the other 2 million into saving and enriching the people like Louise and like Marilyn......the people at the top of most organization's....any genre....do not belong there if we want the best leading....people like Louise and her husband and the others fighting for the survival of this planet.
it's scary and sad....you are special, Louise....

A life that could have took many turns

Wonderful story of a young girls life that could have taken many turns, an outcome that was positive yet you could see the damage that could have been far worse.
